  1. There's an unused one for sale here for £20.00. Might be a cheap fix... http://www.motorsnparts.co.uk/si162244598832.html
  2. Used this to cleam up tiling on my boat. Pretty effective. http://www.ltp-online.co.uk/prod/ltp-grimex For spilled oil in the tray, remove as much as you can with a hand pump or similar. Cat litter should absorb the rest. If you can put it in loose and remove with a wet/dry vacuum. Alternatively you can mince down to the shop and get some stockings and fill them with cat litter...
  3. Perhaps you could give some indication of the location of this incident so that other boaters in the area are aware...
  4. Many outboard engines have a "through hub" exhaust that exits though the center of the prop. Fine in forward gear, but reverse performance is compromised. Mariner (?) brought out a system with a prop that slid on splines so that the exhaust was diverted to the front of the prop when in reverse. Not sure how effective this was, but AFAIR it was prone to jamming.
  5. How about trying some tar and bitumen remover? http://www.achem.co.uk/shop/product-details.php?prdID=367
  6. Why not ask the local Victron Guy? According to the Victron Website, his name is Nigel Vincent. Phone: +44 7940244664 Email nvincent@victronenergy.com If nothing else he might be able to put you in touch with a techie that can help you...

  10. Three that I can think of: Flying within 50M of people, vehicles or buildings. Flying over groups of people at any height. Flying out of line of the pilot's sight.
  11. Used sensibly, there is nothing at all wrong with "drones" - if you are talking about proper multicopters and not cheap toys. As is usual with anything new, they have been the subject of a lot of ill-informed rants in the press, as well as some legitimate concerns. They make a lot less noise than IC powered aircraft. The software tells you where the local airports are and indicates the exclusion zones around them.
  12. Before you get too far into it, I suggest you look at the rules for "drone" flying: You may find that some of your intended uses are illegal... https://www.caa.co.uk/Consumers/Model-aircraft-and-drones/Flying-drones/
  13. If you've let the smoke out, you need some of this:

  19. I don't want to be a "Doom Monger" - but: A few years ago we lived in a house that had a solid fuel central heating boiler. It was well maintained and the chinney was swept regularly. One day we returned from work in the late afternoon to find our lovely Old English Sheepdog and our recently aquired kitten both lying dead on the kitchen floor. It was a heartbreaking experience. It turned out that a peice of chimney lining had fallen down and partially blocked the flue. Get that fire fixed before you use it, MissMax!
  20. Gloucester Harbour covers a surprisingly large area of the Severn Estuary, which includes the approaches to Sharpness Dock. Edited to say that she is currently in the vicinity of Porlock, waiting for the tide. It remains to be seen whether she locks up into Porlock, or proceeds directly to Sharpness...
  21. This is the lightship "Sula", already on the G&S at Gloucester docks. Up for sale if anyone has a spare £450K... http://www.gloucesterdocks.me.uk/vessels/lightshipsula.htm
  22. Here she is, just northwest of St. David's. Destination is indeed probably officially Sharpness.
  23. If you know the name of the tug you can find its' whereabouts using ais: http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/centerx:-3/centery:53/zoom:11 https://www.vesselfinder.com/
