  1. I bought one of These for my Vannette - but it is awkward to fit, also check the spades are tight. They are self generating. Alex

  3. Tricky - but I found This Alex
  4. My Liverpool boat was just the same, along with many others I suspect - no vent. Drilling a hole is OK as long as nothing is going to spill into the tank - but unnecessary. Alex

  6. I'm really not bothered - but I would really love to see an amp meter reading showing 175+ charge on any NB. Alex
  7. IMHO - 25mm cable will be perfect, you will never ever get 170A from the alternator, in fact you'll be lucky to ever get half that! Volts drop is very low unless you are running meters of cable. Alex
  8. Hi £5000 seems a bargain - have a look at Barrus I would bit the bullet and have it fitted - hapth 'o tar ect Alex
  9. Been there done that - not very successful. Sorry, there doesn't seem enough or hot enough water available to make it worth while. I had more success pumping the calorifier water through the C/H radiators. Alex
  10. Hi I have just bought one of these Road Pro for my MH. They were recommended because they are not as susceptible to wind and very easy to set up. You also need a sat finder device. I was talked out of the automatic ones because of the price and that the manual ones are so easy to set up. Alex
  11. Yes - Check the belts first Alex

  13. I would have expected him to now take over BWML, as he committed so much time and effort (and finance) to it over the last few years. Is there any news as to where he is going? Alex

  15. Been down to my boat today and all's well. Some one has even fitted some scaffold poles down the side for safety - top man The Sawley cut is all OK but the river is high on the flood lock gate and the Trent is FULL! Alex
  16. Hi Thanks for that - perfect. We are trying to get down there in the next couple of days, we were wondering if we could get down the towpath Thanks again Alex
  17. Hi Is there any update on the Sawley levels? Alex
  18. Hi Where do I go to get the levels at Sawley Lock Alex
  19. Hi I use a plastic 5 Lt container and cut a 4" square hole in it towards the top. Place the cut out under the drain to catch the oil. When you pick up the container to remove it, all the oil sinks into the bottom 6", unscrew the lid and pour it away. Alex
  20. I hadn't noticed any leaks as my cruiser stern deck bilge is often covered in water. Eventually after six months of hardly any rain and I still had wet bilge, I started to look a bit harder. I also had a split in the insulation and the spotted water leaking from it. Having removed the calorifier and the insulation discovered a bulge on the back side next to the hull, I initially suspected the pressure relieve valve and claimed from my insurance for a new calorifier due to a faulty valve. It was rejected but the rep said it would only be covered for frost damage. It then struck me that I had been frozen in for weeks when the temperature dropped to -18 in December 2010. I then claimed it was through frost damage which it probably was as it had bulged next to hull side where it would have been coldest. They eventually paid for its replacement. So it could be that the OP's calorifier was damaged last winter and it has taken this long to show its self as did mine. Alex
  21. I would certainly try and repair it, although I could not see my leak. If you are going to (TRY!!) to get it replaced by your insurance cover insist that was frost damaged - it wont be covered by any other fault. Been there - done that - fortunately after the frosts of December 2010 Alex
  22. Hi I have the Isuzu manual for the 4TNV98 which was the base engine for my old Kubota engine. Send me your email and you can have a copy. Alex
