Thanks for that Alan, she's a lovely boat, my family raised her in about 1993 when she was sunk at Trent Lock with a section 8, she wasn't in bad nick, a couple of soft bits but was mainly due to water ingress. She had been motorised but both the engine and 'ellum were missing. I remember she had solid oak floors throughout and a brand new morso squirrel still in it's packing case!! We bought one a few weeks ago for home, excellent sofa, we went for a custom sized corner sofa bed. The mattress isn't great on the bed, but the sofa is very comfortable and relatively easy to put together, if not a little daunting but once you suss it out it's fine! Pound for pound they blow other Competitors away, they have a showroom in Uxbridge which you can visit and is worth doing, the staff there are very helpful and can assist with the ordering. Ours took about 3 weeks to arrive but worth the wait! They do, what appears to be a great spare parts service for ANY part which breaks, including the frame work and spare covers. HTH Regards Dan

Make a fender out of bubble wrap and gaffer tape to put along the side of the boat and stick it to the side with more gaffer. This only works in temperatures under 0 degrees. Be careful not to rip the paint off though, gaffer sticks tight! I learnt this from my friend, Peter Ian staker Regards Dan

There are some interesting boats on there, and i have my eyes on a couple, but i fear, as ever i may be priced out of the market!! Also, By the time VAT, craneage costs, and auctioneer's fees are taken into account, i think i might just be able to scrape about 25p and half a polo together!! Hey Dan, We had Wyrd up there in the nineties, and it has 2' 11" ish draught, that was a while ago, and we did cut a channel most of the way but we did it, we did have to leave Meteor at hurleston though after it had an altercation with the lock walls in the bottom lock!!
