  1. Edders, yes I did have the email & spent 1/2 an hour in an EE shop this afternoon sorting it out ! They got me through to someone on the phone & it's supposed to be okay now, to pay nothing next month then £14.50 thereafter. I will be checking my account!! Also had an interesting couple of hours yesterday unblocking a huawei 3 dongle, not easy but we got there eventually & now online with EE through it
  2. Not happy as I signed up for this deal on 12/11, just got 1st bill & been charged £29 Impossible to get through on the phone so will call into EE shop tomorrow.......
  3. "Boyes and the Toolbox are my go to places (they understand me.....I feel so sorry for them)" Boyes is the best, I do miss it now we are in the midlands, nothing quite like it ...........
  4. We sorted ours out with a roll of aluminium wedged as you describe, found that Midland chandlers sell the very thing
  5. Our cheap (£250) Chinese stove is still going strong after 8 years, stays in overnight no problem, doesn't have any fancy wheels or riddlers, just a slide opener top & bottom, poker does the riddling. if/when it fails we wouldn't hesitate to get another.
  6. Absolutely Blue String, I like this forum, find it useful for technical & mechanical stuff, usually someone will help out with a query, it's entertaining , Miss Max's thread being a good example- I don't want to get involved in nitpicking or heavy debate, for those that do, fine, I just keep out of it, but if this forum isn't to your taste why are you still here? I think the mods & Dan have a thankless task trying to keep things on an even keel, & I for one say thank you to them for their efforts.
  7. That's what we did before we had a pram cover, worked ok.
  8. We continuously cruise with a dog & 2 cats & have , over the years, accrued a pet first aid kit for those minor things that happen & we're miles from anywhere. Lola had a nasty rash as a pup, we did take her to a vets & they scratched their heads & muttered allergies & meds for life, I googled it & found it looked very similar to impetigo, treatment was to swab with mild solution of hydrogen peroxide 3 x day for 3 days, cured . She also ripped a dew claw which we dusted with antiseptic powder & strapped it up, soon healed. We certainly don't run to the vets for every little thing but when we do need one we just look one up in nearest town.
  9. We have 2 inverters, a 1800w Sterling & a 600w maplins job that cost £50 & a 240w under the counter fridge freezer, the small inverter runs the fridge & tv, charges tablets & phones etc, the 1800w is only used for my hairdryer (1100w cheap travel one) & the microwave. ETA the maplins one isn't portable though, it did need fitting

  11. Well I would but got my hands full with this young lady, who hates swimming btw Edited to add, watch that chimney on the bridges
  12. Most spaniels I've met love water & swimming so probably not be long before the pup becomes a good swimmer
  13. Thanks Neil, I've done my research & the cooker I'm buying has all the above
  14. Thanks for all your replies We have Rob Dickinson lined up to do it for us after we have bought said cooker from Currys at Lyme Green retail park, would liked to have bought it from appliance direct but they wouldn't deliver to canal, despite giving a post code etc Starman, yes she is lovely, hard work sometimes ! but lovely.
  15. As the title really, our hull needs taking back to metal due to still having some patches of mill scale We were/are considering Aqueduct marina for shot blasting & 2 pack but then spotted Otherton boat haven's ad for rotary blasting which they say takes hull back to metal. Any thoughts ?
  16. What Catrin said !! please take note ? Never good to light a fire however 'small" with a leaky flue ??
  17. We are getting rid of our hob & oven ( vanette that I hate ) to replace with a free standing oven as yet not purchased. So can anyone suggest a suitably qualified person to fit one for us. We will be currently heading south from the Bridgewater & heading for the Macc via the T & M. Tia
  18. Plank Lane is also a good stopover, if you're not going into Manchester itself Sale cruising club @ the Watch House just after Stretford always seems okay & they have a clubhouse where you will be made welcome . Dunham Massey is a lovely place to stop & Stockton Heath is good for shops, just a short walk from canal. We also stop over at Daresbury, a nice stretch before Preston Brook. Enjoy
  19. Have shared on canals & rivers, canal market place & cats on the cut face book pages.
  20. We arrived on Monday morning, I walked into the admin office at 11.50 & we were given a slot for 12.50 we love it down here.
  21. Is there any need to be quite so rude ?
  22. We were booked in this afternoon, evidently they had an issue with one of the cables & were working on it to replace, the lift was still operative just with a single cassion but then for health & safety reasons has to be closed while both cables checked out. Closed till at least Friday according to staff member, so we will hang out at the flashes & await developments.........
  23. " No Kettle no microwave, no toaster, no curling tongs or hairdryer" Mmm, I use a (1100w) hairdryer several times a week albeit with the engine running through a 1800w inverter & we also have a small (700w) microwave which is fine for short periods, which is usually all you want it for. Certainly wouldn't use an electric kettle or toaster though off shore power.
  24. We passed just after it happened, slowed to check driver not trapped then he came round the corner, wet, a bit shocked but managed to make a joke
