  1. I saw it on msn website from a report by someone called Ruby Flanagan in the Mirror stating “Others who cannot get the money include: on a boat with a continuous cruising licence (currently under review)”
  2. Don’t do soshal meeju so not my fault 😀
  3. Got ours from Amazon was £99 with 3 year G/tee it’s now £139.99!
  4. We bought a Tower Xpress Pro air fryer oven in September for house home have not used our full size oven since then. Has three shelves so can cook different food at the same time we think it’s great and saves on energy. We use it to cook everything we used to cook in full size oven.

  6. For attention of Grassman Filling and empting at the same time is usually the drain hose pushed too far down the drain outlet causing it to syphon. Don’t know how yours is fitted, if directly fitted to a hose to outside maybe clamped by a jubilee clip try forming a bend in the drain hose above the outlet to stop the syphoning.
  7. Thanks for replies. My batts are rolls s6-l16-sc and just wondered if fitting an alternator regulator would be of benefit or just a waste of money. The engine is a beta 43 with a 175 amp alternator I really know nothing about this subject. I believe I have my Mastervolt combi charger is set up correctly when on shore power but just don’t know about when we are out on the cut and are just charging by the alternator.
  8. Hi. Is there any advantage of fitting an alternator regulator If so what are they? My batteries are lead acid. Can anyone recommend a good one?
  9. This may help Had my 58 Foot boat hull shot blasted and 2 pack epoxy painted, full cost was £3429 this was done July 2015. In May 2021 I had to have the hull recoated with 2 coats of 2pack epoxy full cost was £1064 Good luck
  10. The brown wire on the black socket looks like it’s starting to burn by the connection maybe loose or it’s my eye sight. The white plug top looks like it could do with refitting, wires loose? The blue one, cannot see if correct wires go to the correct connections you’ll have to check i.e. brown to live blue to neutral yellow/ green to earth. All worth a check if all ok I think the charger is faulty.
  11. It is illegal to use an e-scooter on a public road without complying with a number of legal requirements, which potential users will find very difficult in spaces that are set aside for use by pedestrians, cyclists, and horse-riders; this includes on the pavement and in cycle lanes You can use e-scooters on private land to which the public does not have access without legal restrictions. The permission of the owner or occupier of the land must be obtained however. You can only use an e-scooter where the government is running trials and the scooter is provided by a rental company approved by the department for transport. You must have the category Q entitlement on your driving licence. You may use a trial e-scooter on the road (except motorways) and in cycle lanes. You must not use an e-scooter on the pavement. There are lots round where I live and it’s not in a trial area but no enforcement.
  12. Lots of RAL charts you can view online, may give you an idea
  13. Can’t find anything on Jutun site that refers to “Jotun Ballistic (or Ballastic) two pack epoxy” So “Ballastic Black” and “Ballastic Epoxy” must be some paint made by?

  15. Thanks ditchcrawler but have already got my oil and did the service last week. It’s the Smith & Allan stuff CG-4/CF-4 still obsolete according to API but two steps above CF and one step above CF-4. ? Don’t say marine on it so a reasonable price. Engine not blown up yet so quite happy with it.?
  16. This engine oil classification seem to be a bit of a nightmare According to the API SG/CD, SG seems classed for gasoline engines and CD is for diesel both categories are obsolete. CG-4/CF-4 are for diesel engines as is CC but these are also obsolete. For my Beta 43, Beta say CF but according to API this is also obsolete. Have been using this oil for many years and all seems fine, Smith & Allan have been in business since 1925 so should know what they are doing.
  17. Not used the oil you mention, but I use this oil. Been good for me and delivery very quick. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303956200917?hash=item46c5338dd5:g:41QAAOSwub1cwsrM
  18. Yes, agree with the insurance but the following is from the CAA. Quote from CAA “CAP2005” “From 31st December 2020 There will no longer be a distinction between flying commercially and flying for pleasure or recreation. This means that an approval just to operate commercially is no longer required.” “The new rules are divided into three categories: Open, Specific and Certified. The Open category is intended for low-risk drone flights, for example because you are flying a very light drone or are in the countryside. If you are flying in this category then you need no specific authorisation.” A drone under 250g with a camera is in the open category, subcategory A1 therefore must have an Operator ID and a Flyer ID. Height limit 400ft can fly over uninvolved persons but no flight over assemblies of people. Quote from CAA CAP722 “Unmanned Aircraft System Operations in UK Airspace” Applicable in UK from 31st December 2020 “A1.1.6 Insurance Recreational or sporting flights: Not required. Non-recreational flights: Third party cover required law (EC)785/2004.” “A1.2.1 Operating Area No flights within restricted airspace (Restricted Areas, Danger Areas, FRZs) without relevant permission. Flight permitted within residential, commercial, industrial and recreational areas.” There are others regulations but as the CAA CAP722 document is 238 page long I won’t be posting them on here. There is also a debate about stuff posted on social media, Ytube as to it being commercial or not. By the way I don’t do social media or Ytube. I believe the FAA in the US are cracking down on Ytube vloggers but the FAA has different regulations.
  19. Since Jan 2021 there is no authorisation required from the CAA for commercial use for drones up to 25kg. All that’s required is an Operator ID and Flyer ID and to follow the other rules based on weight of the drone.
  20. Some of the laws that are being quoted do not apply to drones under 250g other than to fly safely. The UK Civil Aviation Authority Small drones and model aircraft: below 250g, C0 or C1 class You can fly small drones and model aircraft that are lighter than 250g, or C0 or C1 class, in residential, recreational, commercial and industrial areas.
  21. DMR. Thanks for reassuring comments. Midnight. Thanks for info. No access to those type of facilities + getting a bit old to do myself. Hate painting as the wife know too well.? It would seem all the hype regarding 2 pack epoxy does not stand up. It would have been perhaps more cost effective to have standard blacking done every 2 years. This would have giving me a longer time span than this current coating. What they say about boats, bring out another thousand!!
  22. Yes all looks strange, the circles are the ones that popped when pressure washed more are still intact. According to the spec given to me 2 coats were applied by airless spray to a thickness of 300 to 400 microns. The picture is of the prep work before full spray. Anyway that’s all the info for now hopefully more on Monday, if paint manufacturer and boat yard get back to me. So going into a dark corner and have a good cry. ? Thanks for all your input.
  23. Thanks DMR Some pictures of hull. According to the boat yard where the boat is at present the blisters are widespread all over the hull. The boat was indeed shot blasted indoors and epoxy went directly on to bare steel. A further assessment is to be made on Monday re work require for a fix. Due to lockdown I am unable to visit boat myself so current info is from marina doing the inspection. David Mack Thanks for replying. If 2 pack epoxy just lasts this long then I have obviously wasted the cost and should have slapped bog standard blacking on. You live and learn thinking you get what you pay for. Just pissed off at the moment.
