I will not argue with you but please read that the 250 and 500 hours are to include the 50 hours. I know it is wrong but that is what it says!
-
Thank you PeterF, I knew I read it correctly even if it is written incorrectly. Some folk are too quick to contradict on here before they have comprehended a post. I would not be changing oil and filters at 50 hours!
-
No, it includes the 50 hour service with the 250 and the 500, read it again please before posting. I am well aware of how it is supposed to read but it does not.
-
Very confusing service schedule, it implies an oil and filter change every 50 hours which is ridiculous. I suggest a 250 hour service interval with the extras at 500 hours only.

If these are Apple lightening connectors on ipad and iphone they are subject to rapid wear and you need to buy good ones. Personally I think that they are terrible.

Which one are you then?

I think that you will still have a problem until you reduce the cut out pressure of the pump. Tracy had the best way of re-pressurising accumulators without gauges. Sadly missed.

Threaded black iron is the normal system on narrowboats. I would not use a thin wall stainless system as used on cars. Stainless is more prone to fatigue cracking and the vibration of a diesel engine feeding into a rigidly secured exhaust attached to the hull would not be good even with the flexible section. Why try to reinvent the wheel? Just use cheaper iron fittings and pipe, it will likely see you out. What you have at present looks to be at least 40 years old.

But the engine is in back to front! From my experience fuel dilution of the lube oil is unlikely to cause a bearing failure. It is more likely to cause the engine to run away and suffer an explosive mechanical failure first.

Not just galling, damned annoying and expensive!

The Cambodians raid Thailand for dogs, they take strays back over the border for food. Seems to be a sensible way to deal with unwanted dogs to me.

I never found the food and drink at the Red Lion to be so poisonous. A nice pub really.

My error, EVA is the waterproof one.

I think they show remarkably good sense as long as it is only fisherfolk. I wish I could some times. No, not show good sense, the other thing.

I think that you need to do much more research on this topic Theo! I would assume that its the fact that it is salt water, an electrolyte, that makes the battery short out.

I have not analysed the Captain's wonder stuff but I suspect that it is waterproof PVA, as in waterproof white wood glue sold as Evode wood glue in the blue bottles. A much cheaper way to buy it!

George Fisher make compression fittings for iron pipe. Part off the fat end and use a compression fitting on the remaining plain pipe. But looking at the corroded state of that pipework I would scrap the lot and start again with new fittings and pipe.

These solenoid valves close by the pressure of the fluid behind the diaphragm like an equilibrium valve once the solenoid is not powered. They have a tiny hole in the diaphragm to provide this pressure enabling the pointed armature to close into the rubber seat. Grit in this hole will stop the valve closing fully.

And more from Tanya:- Elecsol Europe Ltd were a producer of sealed wet lead acid and AGM leisure batteries. Elecsol batteries had a carbon fibre additive added to the plates during manufacture. The Elecsol unique selling point were long manufacturer serviced warranties. Unlike most battery warranties, Elecsol handled the complete warranty of the initial 12 months of ownership. Elecsol batteries have been unavailable for purchase since 2013, although Companies House do not currently show the company as having been dissolved.

Unlike conventional leisure batteries, they incorporate strands of carbon fibre in the lead plates. Carbon fibre adds strength, allowing the plates to be built thinner and lighter, but also acts as a wick, drawing the battery acid deep into the plates and greatly increasing the effective surface area. The addition of carbon fibre makes Elecsol batteries highly resistant to sulphation, which is the usual cause of failure in caravan and boat domestic battery banks. They can recover from high depths of discharge, and can be cycled more often than conventional leisure batteries. They do last longer than the average leisure battery - so the slightly higher price you pay up front for them is easily recouped in the long run! Elecsol batteries can deliver high currents, so can be used for engine starting or for running inverters. Elecsol batteries come with a five year warranty if used in approved applications, which includes use in caravans, motorhomes, yachts, cruisers and narrowboats. Other applications will not be covered. In order for the warranty to be valid, the battery must be properly maintained - it must not be over-charged, over-discharged, or left in a discharged state. A solar panel with a good quality regulator is an ideal way of maintaining a battery in a good condition! 0 items £ 0.00 Midsummer Energy Cambridge Road Industrial Estate, Milton CB24 6AZ UK sales@midsummerenergy.co.uk 01223 858414 If you aren't sure where to start looking, our extensive information pages are a great place to start. They all seemed to do the same. A guy on the Wirral was the head honcho, very slimy to deal with. Odd thing was they claimed to have the MOD contract. The only way to keep them working was long hard charging but they all died prematurely.
