There is a good chance that your tv doesn't have the SAT built in to it... so a seperate receiver will be needed... so dish on the roof, cable through to the sat box, which in turn is connected to the tv...get the dish lined up (meter n compass) and it'll be working all over the country... It will NOT work if there are trees or a tall biulding knocking out the signal which is to the south east...so as long as YOU moor the boat with a line of sight it should work...

NB..LOLA....I've been using the MAXVIEW VU CUBE fully automatic system for about 12 months now and fitted approx 20 units...very simple to set up and a good bit of kit if it wasn't I wouldn't be doing it....it is a portable unit so NO holes drilled in the roof, there is a security tag on the dish to tie it down.. then take it off when your cruising or if you have a home to go back to as well as having the boat... subject to lign of view approx 2 mins to set up...

Maxview have two portable automatic ststems with the VU CUBE....the first is what I call semi automatic as you have to move the dish via a remote control this can be done though from inside the boat, then there is the new fully automatic type just press a button on its controller panel and away you go approx 2 mins and job done...both these satellite dish's are removable.... Then there is is standard manual dish that you have to move yourself outside, also removable... Martyn...

Only if the rain is absoluetly bouncing down, then the signal wont go through it, storm passes by picture comes back on... if the picture breaks up with gentle rain then the dish is NOT set up properly... Martyn......

What I've got is not a wok thank you very much.....bloody hell I never thought of that one the sat dish can now double it use..wel that has to be the way now doesn't it....the dish is fixed via a magnetic mount, so when your cruising or if you have bricks and mortor house you just simply take it off.. hope that helps a bit for you..cheers buddy a wok indeed lol... good one...

Hi the other option is SATELLITE tv caslled FREESAT or if you wanted subscribe to SKY...With satellite tv just make sure a clear line of sight to the South East..Martyn TRAVELSAT..

Hi yeah there is a good chance the TV has FREEVIEW built in which is only going to work in conjunction with a digital aerial how ever good your aerial is on the roof of the boat and also the location your in, certainly hit and miss and youd have no logical reason for being that way...the other option is SATELLITE tv caslled FREESAT or if you wanted subscribe to SKY...With satellite tv just make sure you have a clear line of sight to the South East and as long as you have things set up correctly it should be on and working and brilliant pictures... Hi Julian....a decent dish that will affix the the roof ok, these suitcase jobs will be suction so if the roof is non slip you will need to find alternative method of fixing... Also when your on the move each time that you moor up you'll need some form of meter to re locate the correct satellite... Remember if its a sky + or sky+ hd you'll need a twin lnb and two cables to have the box working fully as you were at home... Chers for now... Martyn...

One thought - have you tried the old 'switch it off at the mains wait 30 secs and switch it back on' that always seemed to cure 99% of problems with Sky boxes... Good call...... Martyn...
