  1. There was only the one that I didn't like, the rest were quite bearable, but we certainly did a fair amount of rolling and pitching.
  2. I think I must pass and stop at New Inn with my eyes closed, I've never seen it!! Next time out, I'll make sure to have a look though 🙂
  3. No, this one is in Garstang, it's been a long trip there today!! I've found this pic on an image search, this is from 2010 and was on the Lancaster canal. I wonder.......... Could it be a Nanni Diesel 18 hp engine?
  4. Thanks for replies, sorry I can't give any more info. The engine is in a boat I've been to have a look at today and these were the best pics I was able to take. I couldn't see any labels or names of any sort. Boat registry is 46872, canalplan gives very little further info, although somebody here may know who used to own 'Tadpole' and I may get some info that way.
  5. All I'm able to find out is that it is a 2 cylinder engine and has probably been in situ since being built in the 1980's. Can anybody identify from these pics? Thanks in advance Kevin
  6. My shore power socket is on the bow with the consumer unit at the stern, never been a problem.
  7. Video may be of interest.
  8. Starting as a new thread, rather than adding this to another
  9. Excellent, she's very talented.

  11. Pic off FB, post says it's now been re-floated with not too much damage, other than from the water
  12. Does anybody know Ben at Nautical Knots Fender Boat? Is he okay? I've had some fenders made, but he has recently stopped answering text messages, phone calls or FB messages. I know he was very busy, but would just like him to answer me. Thanks, Kevin
  13. Good news there Frank, sorry if I made you rush though!
  14. As a cyclist, I do find comments like this to be quite embarrassing, there's just no need for it. Unfortunately in all walks of life there are those people who feel they are above the law and they can do whatever they want. I don't know what the answer is, but this Yorkshire cyclist and his mates are always courteous to others when we cycle the towpaths, or the cycle paths, or the roads.
  15. To answer the main question, whatever you decide to do, you are going to need to sand the surface down and clean it as much as possible. Only sand with the grain, ie, up and down. You might be lucky and the sanding will remove the staining, but you also may find that you need new doors.

  19. Thank you. I must try that I was hoping for a meal at the Dog in a Doublet when I cross The Wash in May, but will probably carry on to Peterborough now.

  21. Maybe used to be, they've moved on now.
  22. I've single handed the HNC twice, both times from W to E, the last time was in 2021. On that trip, I had help on the East side of Standedge Tunnel from a local volunteer who will help from Diggle to Slaithwaite. I can't see where I booked it from, but it's certainly worth knowing if you're by yourself.
