  1. I notice the op states her location as Darwen. Could it be the boat is off the Bridgewater with a Bridgewater licence and registration. In that case would CRT hold any info?
  2. It is t'other road round. Peter Kay tries to sound like everyone in Lancashire

  6. I got mine working this morning after a 24hr wait from topping up and sending the registration text. Following on from a few of the earlier posts the sim works in my 3g phone and also in my 3g unlocked Huawei mifi so a good £10 punt as far as I am concerned. Thanks to the OP for the heads up.
  7. Middlewich Narrowboats. Seem to remember he was called Greg.
  8. I used the dock earlier this year and found it just as in the first post.
  9. As you say they are helpful. The rubber ring which sits on the prop is much softer than the ring on the old unit. The only minor difficulty I had was removing the plastic protective sleeve after the unit was fitted. It did not look as though it would be up to the required strength to remove it though ultimately it was. I think Mick said they should be good for minimum of 8 years.
  10. I fitted what appears to be the same unit at the end of April when I was out for blacking. Not had a drop of water in since. Got mine from Mick Sievright at Aqueduct for about the same price.
  11. Thank you for the replies. Just the feedback I needed
  12. Label on gear box states ATF yet the manual says engine oil sae 20/30. Anyone with experience of which it should be before I make the call. Should have added ATF in at present.
  13. The permit worked really well for us last year and we would have taken one again though with minimum inconvenience we can manage without. That leaves us with £350 to spend on a few p@@s ups this winter. Should we contact CRT to see if they can organise one in a brewery for us or are we best looking elsewhere?
  14. I can not see a scrape just the reflection of another boat in the extremely shiny paintwork. Or am I missing something?
  15. We bought our bout out of licence and on trade plates at the end of May last year. I phoned Leeds as Martin suggest and was sold a 12 licence with early payment discount. They were very easy to deal with. I am not sure how long it had been out of licence but it did have a current safety certificate.
  16. I got the last one. Glad it was not at your expense Jon. Good heads up.
  17. I recently ordered a controller, cable and meter from Bimble. The meter was missing from the delivery. A quick email to Bimble and the meter was with me in a couple of days, no quibble. As has been said it is not how a company react when things go right it is how they react when they go wrong. I am still at a loss as to why I ordered the meter I will more than likely never understand it.
  18. No problem at all. I usually bleed the big filter first from the bleed nut atop and then the one on the engine turn the ignition switch for 5-10 seconds at which point all I can hear is the fuel pump, turn the ignition key to start and off it goes. Going back to the cooling system. I did not reply yesterday due to not being at the boat and was not sure if I pictured the system correctly. It would appear that the T piece that you previously described is fitted though it does not seem to have cured the problem so I will still do the modification. As it stands now I fill the system through the radiator type filler on the engine to below the neck. I changed the coolant before winter and have not needed to add any since so presuming all is well with this.
  19. Yes. They are doddle to do on mine. Just make sure the washer is in place on the fuel pump rather than under the engine before you reassembled and turning on the fuel.
  20. Thank you Catweasel. Its a shame it did not stop the sealing washer from falling out also. By the way while we are here. I followed a link from a thread, before i started posting, to your website a few months ago regarding loosing coolant from the system for the slight modification which I will carry out shortly so thanks for that also.
  21. I changed the fuel filters on the engine yesterday. The end cap on the fuel pump which holds the small filter also has a sealing washer and a small magnet which lines up with the neg connection outside the pump and some gubbins inside the the pump. What does this magnet do? Curious rather than concerned.
  22. I will shortly be fitting a 250w panel & MPPT controller. Firstly what rating of fuse would be required? Secondly what order of connecting? I was going to connect to diagonal corners of my 4 battery bank working back from the batteries to the controller and finally connecting the push in adaptors to the back of the panel. Is the plan flawed or does all sound good?
