I hope you feel calmer now you've had a rant..there are always those who moor longer but they run the risk of being caught by those employed to observe mooring patterns. Maybe you should consider mooring earlier as it takes so long to find somewhere.

no brainer then..i have turned my garden in to a welcome to butterflies and bees zone so guess have to accept the unwelcome with the welcome.

Knotweed "Jo" arrived to-day to review treatment from last year..as we wandered through awfulness that had been knotweed forest last year we noticed wasps crawling out the dead hollow canes..yep another nest. She tells me I can purchase "fake" nests next year and hang around horror house garden and no wasps will nest...one can only hope...Apparently bees and wasps love knotweed flowers..I guess its nice to know summit does...

Woodworm is only active apparently for short time each year ...I found some in Horror House..freaked out as it was yet another hassle. Painted all wood I could get to whether affected or not with the Ronseal product..several coats..smell soon went. I was told not to bring untreated wood into the house. Just about to delve into another area of damp thats just shown..its the damp wood they like to yomp on. I will try the syringe method as not convinced lintel free...however it has been stained and I was told its difficult to treat that. I had the guy out to survey the wood...he said that it's very slow progression and not to get to stressed over problem... I hate woodworm.

Thats a pretty ouchy place to get stung....so I think any of us would feel the pain of that one

The odd glass of wine whilst pootling along on an afternoon/evening is totally different to handling boat whilst hammered . Moderation as ever is the key..those who pour alcohol down their throats in order to achieve "maximum" enjoyment from any social event are a menace be they on waterways or at parties. I rarely drink now due to health related issues following years of stress related illness ..odd glass vino is all I can manage slowly..but for me I don't miss the drink and it does not affect my enjoyment of time out though Im not a party person anyway. I would never have attempted to drive my boat or car or anything that needed 100% clarity of mind. It all boils down to being responsible.

Right strawberry patch now donated to the worker wasp food bank...if I gives them their own freeby food supply they will leave me alone.

. I'll live with them then...does the queen sleep all winter in old nest? Why risk more pain for little gain..I'll clear that area late in the season...I'm just not into tackling hordes of stinging critters.

I think 'Brexit' is causing no harm remaining..its boring at times but its serving a purpose and I think will die natural death or go into hibernation to be resurrected as and when circumstances dictate..its not causing anyone to rant n rave..I am learning bits from it but don't often post. There is no need to cull something thats not doing any harm.

Not sure how they do it but my son whose a diver was employed to raise a sunk boat by RCR through "Reds"..a company based at Rugby who have divers on their books. ...

Always been night owl..worked night shifts for years so Im not bothered when I sleep..each day has 24 hours and although I try to sleep now when its dark some days Im up all night. When I was on boat I did the same.

How sharpish?.. Ive had close encounter this week with wasps nest near Horror House at garden's end....awful stings up one arm which are now raw, then dizzy spell so guess maybe all the toxins didn't do me any good....summats gotta go..I dunno precisely where nest in but seem where large numbers appear to come out of..guess could try at night..wish they'd all go of their own free will. How near do you have to be for the powder....anyone got a spare space mans suit?

Gentle humour still seems acceptable. I guess we will all post with care to ensure content of our words does not harm or injure another's feelings. I don't know much about the workings of electrics, boats or engines but will engage where I can. I hope it does not become to dry on here.
