  1. No. It was delivered by Evri so it was chucked over the fence/wall.
  2. Funnily enough we have not seen many wasps this year either but have had several English hornets in the garden which we have not seen previously. They are scary! We definitely have not had as many bees either this year.
  3. Our neighbours have just gone to check on their caravan at Torksey. It was close last night. Fingers crossed for them! Will be a close call on the flood gates at Torksey Lock that 😳
  4. Seen that boat around before. Don't think they were new to boating or boating in rivers! Unless it has had a recent change of ownership.
  5. Drone footage of Bleasby just upstream of Hazelford Lock. BBC News - Watch: Drone footage shows hamlet cut off by floods https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-67896425 Dunham Bridge closed. BBC News - Lincolnshire flooding forces caravan park residents to leave homes https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-67891723
  6. Our policies always covered possessions as well. We made sure our van insurance does as well.
  7. The Bromley Arms, Fiskerton, River Trent This was yesterday

  9. Plenty of water to work it's way down the Trent in the next few days which is already pretty high! https://check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/station/2185
  10. Why not just use a hire boat for one week of the year. You can try different boats in different locations.
  11. Just started raining heavy here and forecast to stay that way for the rest of the day. Just taken the dog for his dinnertime walk a bit early to save us both getting too wet. Glad we don't have anything to do or anywhere to be today. Just a chilled day at home before heading back to work tomorrow. Got the van scrubbed out this morning after a muddy four night break. Somehow we didn't get it too fouled up. Just got the bedding to put back on. Now we need some dry weather in the next few weeks please 🙏
  12. We are hoping for a drier few weeks now. We are due to have a couple of nights in York at the end of the month but the campsite is currently closed due to flooding 🙄

  14. We drove over the Trent at Dunham yesterday and it was as high as we have seen it for a long while. Was working it's way around the back of the bridge in the field!
  15. We always used the transom shower on NC to wash the dog off. Got a Mud Daddy on the van we usually use. The site here has a dog wash though so used that instead today. Cream alcantara and muddy dogs are not a great combination 🙈
  16. It rained very heavy here at Clumber Park last night. Not helped that we are parked under trees which made it sound worse! Think it will be a muddy dog walk this morning 😀
  17. Our Gaslow cylinders will go back to Gaslow at ten years old.
  18. We use refillable lpg bottles on the van. Works out a damn sight cheaper than Calor, Flo gas or Camping Gaz. Had to buy the Gaslow bottles and filler first of course. They have already more than paid for themselves. Each bottle holds 22 litres (at 80% full) and we carry two.
  19. Camping Gaz is the other alternative for smaller bottles but they are stupidly expensive. Well over £40 now for a 2.7kg bottle!
  20. Yesterday 2023 Brayford Pool, Lincoln Wouldn't have fancied getting through the bridges in town yesterday with the rate it was flowing!
  21. Heavy rain and strong winds pretty much all day where we have been. There was a lot of standing water on the roads. Had to keep the speed right down as we were being badly blown around and the van was wanting to take off on the larger puddles! Horrible journey. Glad we decided against Scarborough. Lincoln is surprisingly busy for a Thursday afternoon which is nice to see. Looking forward to a couple of good nights out.
  22. Hope you have had better weather today than we have. With family packed off home we have taken the van out. Supposed to be heading for Scarborough but given the heavy rain and strong winds we decided against it and are now in Lincoln for a couple of nights instead. Could have used the boat on the A1 it was that wet! Just starting to brighten up now so it's pub time in a minute.
  23. We have three vehicles at present. One is zero rated for VED, one will very shortly become zero rated for VED when it reaches 40 years young and the other one costs in the region of £300 a year. Mileage varies. Zero rated daily runner averages around 18k a year. Van about 6k miles and old one hasn't done many this year maybe 10.
