  1. I didn't check on street map or other, just presumed there wasn't a path there as there is no apparent signs, and no evidence of a style etc.and after talking to land owner(there are at bridge 191 & bridge 188) but looking at it I will be interested to see when bridge 189 is reinstated as that one is also shown to have a right of way. 188 & 190 are both pigs to open. I will e mail C&RT today to see if I can get a response from them Bazza
  2. Jim , no they haven't, that's why I'm annoyed to say the least, my missus is also peed off with them its not a bridal way either, I've checked.
  3. Martin, its fields at either side and the only thing that would travers across the land would be a tractor Bazza
  4. Well, C&RT are at it again, wasting money. Went to my boat today and noticed that swing bridge 190, just above our moorings is now in operation again for some reason. Bridge 190 has been out of use and derelict (permanently open as is bridge 189 ) as long as I have had a boat since 2006, all of a sudden its been refurbished and put back across the cut. I have spoken to the farmer that owns the land on the towpath side of the canal and he has told me that he has no use of the bridge because another farmer owns the land on the offside of the canal, so he does not need access across the bridge either. Madness !!!!!!!!!!!! Just another one to open again as if there aren't enough already. Maybe the money could have been better spent on maintaining the ones that are in use. Bazza
  5. Well, this year, NO WORK, so have plans to go to Leeds-Selby - York-Ripon, then a return back to Selby and after that who knows ????? Can't wait
  6. Can these be cut back by 50cm without yo much trouble ? If you do that there won't be much left an you'll end up with a very narrow worktop. Did you mean 50 mm ?
  7. Are you sure this is not just a typo, after all the O and the R are next to I and the E on a keyboard and maybe it should have read diesel Bazza
  8. Hi, have tried one of these on our boat for the portable tele, seems to work fine. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007JPOX8O/ref=pe_385721_37986871_TE_item
  9. She had been at the terminal, she passed us on our way up from Castleford (scary) and had actually finished off loading by the time we caught her up and moored outside the marina. Glad you enjoyed the clip.
  10. finally managed to get this on, taken in 2010 I think on A&C at Lemonroyd. Hope it works !!!!!!!!!!! http://s1327.photobucket.com/user/bazza954/media/hol10056_zps1d862cb9.mp4.html
  11. Thanks for all the replies to my question, most helpful. I think I will go with the separate charger for the starter battery, to avoid starting problem if it should arise. Richard, yes the inverter has a charge only setting, so I will be leaving it set on that. Regards to all Baz
  12. Hi all, on my boat I have 5 x 110a domestics batteries 2 x 110a thruster batteries 1 x 110a starter battery Also fitted is a sterling 2500w pro combi inverter/charger (80a), at present the charger just does the domestic batteries. We will not be using the boat much over the winter period, just the odd weekend. Question : Would it be OK to connect the other batteries up so they will also get the float charge into them over the winter period ? Thanks for any replies. Bazza
  13. Hi, we had a flexible tank made for our old narrow boat that fit in the triangular bow section. If I remember rightly it was made by HCL Duratank, they used to make hovercraft products (skirts etc. from neoprene) they will make one to measure and have all the different patterns on their web site. they normally advertise in the canal mags, but I'm sure a google search will find them. Good quality product. ETA Link http://www.hovercraftconsultants.co.uk/products/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=54&ph=cat&keywords=&recor=&SearchFor=&PT_ID=&PT_MasterCategory=n
  14. Have you managed to remove the unwanted ballast yet ? I am local to you and am in need of some ballast for my boat, if it's the right price. Do you have any idea how much each piece weighs and the dims ?
  15. Hi Bodger, yep his diary definitely has more pages than anyone else's, our boat was only 12 weeks behind promised delivery date. Got there in the end though, the boat is great. 19. Got a stone chucked at us just after the moorings at Foulridge, by two little bu**ers who did a runner when I pulled the boat in.
  20. It appears to be really slow going from one link to another and takes an age to go from the main menu to the various topics.
