  1. Worth a look? http://www.montpellier-appliances.com/product-details/montpellier-mab2030k-r-mini-retro-fridge-freezer-undercounter/ Climate class N/ST Consumption .47kWh/24 hrs Not bad to look at and just the £400 cheaper than 12v
  2. It stops well short of the canal, but I think there is a footpath leading to the portal at the north end of the tunnel.
  3. I have one of those, it wouldn't start a moped! It is really just a torch with a big battery. Instructions on mine say connect to starter battery then leave for at least 10 minutes before trying to crank.
  4. Initially, because of what I'd read on here, I used to lift them when cruising, then one day thought "why do I do this". Couldn't think of any reasons, so henceforth have left them down. They only come up for locks, but I'm open to persuasion.

  6. Website was down for a few days, but back now with latest gallery pictures showing some of the purpose-built staging going in. I went past on Monday afternoon and all eight stages on the north western side were in. It has been fascinating watching the marina slowly emerging and this most certainly will not just be a water-filled pit like some. They seem to have fitted it to the landscape with a great deal of thought, and once the dust settles it will be a real asset to the Leicester Arm. http://www.northkilworthmarina.co.uk/september-12th-3/nggallery/thumbnails
  7. I would say that the Bluetooth speaker and charging functions would mean that it wouldn't go straight in the bin. My experience of portable aircon is that you are better off with a wet towel and a fan.
  8. The Facebook link has a picture, but typically, the Harborough Mail fails to. https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=1056799344403149&id=990976340985450 The main body of the marina is now in water, the section shown, slipways, wetdocks etc. is kept dry currently by a temporary dam.
  9. Shaping up nicely, a lot of the metalwork is now in place, our mooring is booked! http://www.harboroughmail.co.uk/news/mail-news/amazing-4m-marina-takes-shape-in-the-leicestershire-countryside-1-7524774
  10. It's only a problem if the washing machine answers.
  11. Looks to be a standard size to me, so any make of built-under fridge should fit, such as http://www.gorenje.co.uk/products/cooling/models/built-in-fridge-freezers/rbiu6091aw/407391. However, for the fault that you have, it would be worth having it looked at by someone in the know. ps with most fridges, if you rotate the thermostat all the way anti-clockwise, that is OFF! You might also want to check the lightbulb to see if the filament has broken, which would make a simple thermostat failure seem more sinister.
  12. Cheap, simple, effective. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LED-Clip-on-Electronic-Digital-Guitar-Tuner-Chromatic-Bass-Violin-Ukulele-Tuning-/141437273233?hash=item20ee518491:g:O38AAOSwdsFUO3nJ
  13. Excellent, thanks for the update, I'll try again
  14. I went to a couple of the venues, Napton and Long Itchington the year before last. The performers were excellent, but it was spoiled by the lairy behaviour of the local drinkers especially at The Folly. I'd happily go again if they've sorted it.

  16. From what I can see, the ash particles are too light to be spun out by the Dyson's vortex, so they end up in the filter, most decent bagged cleaners will handle cold ash no problem. I've just checked the Bosch Athlet's manual and that only advises against it's use on a building site! Believe me, it's easy to rubbish Dyson
  17. The Dyson instructions specifically exclude its use for cleaning up ash !!So that's a vacuum cleaner that can't be used for cleaning ....... only Dyson could come up with that one.
  18. The Dyson is brand new, no blockages. Suction and pickup are about 1/2 that of the £29 mains cleaner, if you try to clean properly with it the battery overheats after about 5 minutes use and it all goes horribly wrong when you come to empty it, especially if you have sucked up any cobwebs. Dyson is always banging on about design, well it's back to the drawing board as far as I'm concerned, I genuinely feel as though I've been had! The Bosch Athlet is fine on hard floors, pretty well useless for anything else and just as horrible to empty, but at least it was cheaper.
  19. There are no decent 12v cleaners, you'd be better off tying a duster to a mouse. Come to that, none of the rechargeables are much good either, certainly not the Bosch Athlet nor the Dyson V6, both of which I have the misfortune to own, and are utterly useless. If you have a reasonable inverter, a £29 mains, bagged cylinder vac. will be easily the best option, I bought a little Daewoo that works a treat on the boat.

Did I once see a boat made out of a skip?
  22. This type of thing? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcycle-Cigarette-Lighter-Socket-Dual-USB-Charging-Waterproof-Connector-12V-/331345880302?hash=item4d25c0e4ee:g:ypgAAOSwzrxUr6ye http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SS-Triple-3-1-Amp-USB-Charger-Voltmeter-12-V-Socket-Panel-Marine-Outlet-Jack-/231578330328?hash=item35eb24e4d8:g:73EAAOSwpDdVaavp And if you need to solder. http://www.screwfix.com/p/rothenberger-butane-gas-micro-soldering-torch-kit/36233?kpid=36233&cm_mmc=Google-_-Product%20Listing%20Ads-_-Sales%20Tracking-_-sales%20tracking%20url&cm_mmc=Google-_-Shopping%20-%20Tools-_-Shopping%20-%20Tools&gclid=CjwKEAjw0pa5BRCLmoKIx_HTh1wSJABk5F_4xNS94cqUHsalAbrRTQntCbNWH2BehpUvIpzxXTZgqhoCFkHw_wcB Although I prefer to used insulated crimp connections. http://www.screwfix.com/p/ratchet-crimping-tool-1-0-10mm/96561
