  2. Its for operating the paddles on the locks (ground paddles I think but stand to be corrected)
  3. Yes, I think its a piece of 3 x 2 that you need, I've got a one in my garage that I've never used (sorry thats no good to you) but it's made out of hardwood, I don't know if softwood would stand the strain Dave
  4. I thought you'd go anywhere to go boating Janet ????

  6. You can have some of ours, we've had enough now, it's nearly gone now though. Hopefully the weather will have improved by September for you. Dave
  7. Which boat have you booked from canal escapes ? I've just seen Isabel moored in the snow at Kildwick. Dave
  8. From Barnoldswick (barlick) Greenberfield Locks, East Marton, Bank Newton locks, Gargrave + Locks and then Skipton. A beautiful part of the world to go boating and you're obviously hiring from canal escapes which are great boats, You'll have a great time and if you get to Kildwick (3 miles east of Skipton) then look us up. If you need anymore info just send me a pm Dave

  10. How about 60ft then you can come to Yorkshire !!
  11. I had this problem on my old boat with a Vetus M3, a new sender unit cured the problem. Dave
  12. [ Sorry to say Dave, hard times are ahead. I need another job ASAP as I cant live off the hours I am getting now. Selling is not set in stone yet so you've still got me about for now. Just weighing up our choices. Time will tell! Busy looking at down sizing the house rather than sell the boat. Well if you do have to sell, you know where we are if you fancy a days boating Dave
  13. Well they've finally shifted the crane (see attachment) http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/10275213.Toppled_crane_in_canal_at_Apperley_Bridge_is_shifted_after_four_weeks/ Dave
  14. Why ? what are you selling for ? Dave
  15. I think you're going to struggle on the Leeds & Liverpool, I've been up here for a few years and the longest I've seen get through is 60ft, I don't know if you'll even get through going diagonally in the locks. I know a few 60ft ers who've been through and got soaked with the leaking gates Dave
  16. The crane is still in the canal at Apperley Bridge and canal now drained If you copy and paste this attachment its from the local paper www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/10247844.Crane_high_and_dry_at_Apperley_Bridge_after_Leeds_Liverpool_Canal_drained/
  17. I wondered where Alternative therapy had gone, it's my partners favorite name for a boat
  18. 100 gallon water tank perhaps, 100 gallon diesel tank WOW ! that would cost over £400 to fill up ????? Are you sure or is it me getting mixed up in my old age
  19. On my last boat I took the stove apart to recon it and had the back plate welded
  20. Thanks for that Andy, I've avoided that place for some time now, it used to feel like you were doing the staff a favour if you went in for a drink and if you asked for food, well what can I say !!!!! We'll give it a try when we come up in the Spring. Dave
  21. I have a water filter on my boat, I change the filter when needed and its fine to drink from the tap, I don't live on the boat and only fill up with water when needed, we've never had a problem with the quality of water. Dave
  22. And why would anyone from Skipton want to go and stay in the middle of Leeds (except to go to the football) Dave
  23. This is the type that I've got but it's playing up and I've been told it'll cost about £1000 to repair. Brand new they are about £2000 apparently, I think I'll just stick with an aerial and freeview. http://www.scan-terieur.com/teleco.html Dave
  24. It's called forward planning, first when buying a boat knowing what restrictions are on which canal you intend to visit or if you've got a boat then knowing where you can take it before you go there. Dave
  25. I had this problem last year on our 'new' boat, I was told that the answer is ventilation, ventilation, ventilation. This year I've left the windows partly open and so far no condensation, worth a try ! Dave
