  1. Thanks, that's very kind of you, people on here are so helpful. I have got the company I bought it from to take a look at it now so hopefully they will be able to sort it for me next week. I am obviously interested for future reference learning as much as I can about the boat as I don't want to be stranded at any point.
  2. No fuel at the injectors but fuel at the pump. The manual states to turn the engine with the injector pipes loose to bleed it. This doesn't work either unfortunately. I take it the cable to the pump activates to shut the off fuel when the key turned off on the instrument panel and back on when the ignition is turn on. This appears to be working ok.
  3. I was actively encouraged by my insurance company to use a form of heating to help winterise the boat. I have two of these lovely compact 500w bambinos and can thoroughly recommend them.
  4. Thanks for all the replies. I have tried to get it started again today without success. A very kind forum member gave me a hand but to no avail. it would appear I have fuel going into the pump but nothing at the injectors. The boat, and engine is just over a year old so I am hoping for another warranty repair? I was just hoping to get it running myself in case I have done something stupid? I have tried bleeding the system, checking for water in the filters etc. The engine is a Barrus Shanks 37. The fuel line with the solenoid in the last picture is attached to the pump just before the plunger in the next picture. The other fuel line (on the left) is attached to the top of the injectors but doesn't return to the top of the tank as described but parallel to the other at the bottom. There is a third take off pipe the other side of the tank (not in the photo) that goes to the Webasto unit. .
  5. Thanks for the reply, I mean the black box at the side of the tap lever has wires attached to it. I am guessing it is some kind of emergency fuel cut off switch perhaps?
  6. Although I have been around for a while I am still very much a newbie and trying to learn as much as possible about my boat. Given that I have quite a lot of experience with motor vehicles I thought the transition to boating would be easy but this is clearly not the case and unfortunately I am finding it quite difficult to understand how a lot of components are configured to work. The manual I received with the boat is worse than useless for my needs as was the handover when I bought it. I was wondering if maybe a few people on here would kindly spare me a moment of their time and be my virtual guide to all things puzzling? The first thing of interest to me is high on my priority list given that the boat won't start since standing most of the winter. Can anyone tell me about the two pipes from the fuel tank, what the electrical switch is for and how it operates. Why are there two taps, one without a lever, is this a return? (I know the manual lever is in the off position on the other and is not the cause of the none start problem)
  7. Could you not try spraying 'cold start' down the air intake to see if that would get it started?
  8. Iphone users can download the dish align app and it works a treat too!
  9. I have been using One Chem exterior multi cleaner which is plant and aquatic safe to clean the boat. It works a treat but best done in sections or leaves streaks. I then use Bullet this is an amazing carnauba polish that is extremely easy to apply and still shines 6 months on. I should add the paint is brushed international. Carnauba wax is the hardest known natural wax. Why is Carnauba used in boat wax? •Being a natural plant by-product, it will not react with any paintwork, Gelcoat or specialist applied coatings such as Awl Grip. •Environmentaly friendly. •100% Free from Silicone oils,P.T.F.E.,Citrus, harsh chemicals, smears or white residues. • Provides a very hard film over your surface to protect against airborne contaminants such as acid rain residue, catalytic converter emissions, bug tar, grime, salt, U.V. damage and bird droppings. •Swells and closes its pores when exposed to water •Dramatically reduces paint oxidation by diffusing (refracting) UV and infrared radiation from the sun which can oxidize and dull your paint finish. •Most people find that that 1 coating will last for several weeks (or even months!). •After application you only need to flush the surface with water and it will magically bead away. •Withstands steam cleaning and most traffic film removers whilst still beading water brilliantly. •All you will need is a Micro Fibre cloths to apply and buff, maintenance is greatly reduced. Use Bullet Spray Carnauba Wax and Hi Shine on: * All Paintwork * Chrome * Fibreglass * Gel Coat * Awl Grip * Carbon Fibre * Stainless Steel, Aluminium, Brass. * Mirrors * Glass & Plexi-Glass * Plastics * Coated Wood
  10. That's quite a witty blog and a nice idea thanks
  11. Hi can anyone tell me if the idea of a zip out flyscreen is an option for a front Cratch cover? I might be looking to buy a front cratch and I am unsure whether I want one with windows or if the bow is too stubby to take both an opening and a window? If I was to go with just an opening I was wondering if in the summer I could leave the cratch open with a fly screen attachment something like you get with a tent perhaps?

  14. hi can anyone advise me of the best method to extend the cabling via a socket for both the tunnel light and horn please? It has been suggested that I use a socket and that way I can plug other accessories into it when stationary. The only thing I have found is a 3 wire Waterproof Deck Cable Connector. Is it possible to get more than a 3 wire connector? Suggestions greatly appreciated.
  15. I agree and Wow that looks fab and nothing like I have ever seen before. I love the galley picture particularly.
  16. Its interesting that people talk about damage to the boat but what about soft furnishings? We have a couple of oil filled radiators turned on to keep the boat aired, damp free and hopefully keeping the mould off the curtains, sofa etc. We are using some of those DIY moisture absorbers that contain crystals for the first time too. Interestingly enough the boat next to us has no heating and they leave the windows open, certainly making it cheaper on the electricity than what we pay. Makes you wonder what is the best approach doesn't it?
  17. I called my insurance broker following the warnings from some people on here when this was mentioned last year. They said it was fine to leave heaters on the boat unattended in order to help with winterising. I have a couple of Bambino oil filled radiators left on low settings to keep the soft furnishings aired and hopefully the boat frost free.
  18. Problem solved. If I had my thinking head on I would have realised I had one month direct debit payment left to pay. The amount I did actually pay minus this one month payment meant that C&RT owed me £18.54 which they kindly refunded. So I have paid £769.21 and cost C&RT a stamp! But it was their own silly fault for mistyping the prompt payment fee on the renewal request form.
  19. Shardlow in Flood and now Willington too!
  20. according to C&RT's licencing fees link on the web a prompt payment for a 57 footer is £769.21 but the renewal notice I received and promptly paid did not make reference to this as such. Here is the text word for word: The licence for this boat expires on 30 November 2012 The amount that you will need to pay for your next licence depends on when we receive your correctly completed application(and any enclosures). Key dates and amounts are as follows: Date we receive your application Amount due up to and including 01 December 2012 £854.68 (prompt payment rate)* From 02 December 2012 £854.68 (full fee) until 31 December 2012 On or after 01 January 2013 £1004.68 (full fee plus late payment **) *the prompt payment rate only applies if the correctly completed application (and any enclosures) is received by us before the start date of the licence
  21. Are you trying to add a new ring tone to an iPhone?
  22. Doh! I should have said £18.54 refund. I don't understand the prompt payment thing? The fees for both the renewal and prompt payment was the same on the form?
  23. Can't you just scrub it with something? Don't laugh the missus has just been cleaning the bath with toothpaste and it has come up a treat
