  1. Walking back to my mooring last night and caught a new sign out of the corner of my eye it would appear that a section of moorings have been removed, about 100 - 120 foot, and only fisherman are allowed there now Are there any other areas with such signage, they do look official as new posts have been concreated in and logos etc This is in Marsworth opposite the facitlies block Fisherman have always been limited to the area between the elson bridge and the aylesbury arm, and had to be shared with the boats. This area is now fisherman only This is also the area that only recently CRT said that there were issues with mooring spaces and proposed reducing to 48 hours but now there is so much room that they can reduce the available mooring space We on the moorings were not told of this change, and in all fairness makes no change to our cirumstances expect that as the chains that were removed have still not been put back and some boaters were waiting on that side as there is a bollard to tie to Steve
  2. i didnt want to tap the roof so made boxes out of decking and screwed the panal to that, this let me put a hinge in so i can angle it if required Only used 100mm decking so doesnt really stand that high on the boat roof and got a little bit of storage out of it. Boxes are really heavy with the panal attached
  3. Hi, i dont do facebook so havent seen that post My info came from the email i sent to CRT as i filled up there on friday and they say it was boaters As for the locking of the other parts, i am let to understand that there are water outputs in both of them sections, certainly one in the elsen, never been in the new pump out, and they didnt want anyone to use them Kind regards
  4. Rubbish wasnt shut yesterday Just the water tap, pump out and elsen were taped off but i left at 7.30 this morning so i dont know if anything has changed
  5. apprently a boater complained of a chorlide smell from the water tap and it was shut yesterday
  6. so looking at the link above it states "Typically these sites will be where there is either formal planning consent for residential use or where residential use is historically established so that planning permission is no longer required for the change of use." Does anyone know how long historically established is?
  7. No, its not the one/s closest that hasnt sold, in fact the one at that end was the first one occupied pop down there any night and you should be able to see which have and which havent sold, you might be surprised
  8. There are residential moorings, as well as long term moorings, at Marsworth and when we took them we were told that no facilties would be removed as a result of the devolment. This was in advance of any work starting, i think it was at the consulation stage, let alone them being put on the market so why should the boaters that ligitmatly live there have to suffer. Maybe people who want to have a nice view of the canal should understand that boats will be on the watery bit. I have spoken to a lovely couple in one of the houses and she advised that at no point were they told about the facilties block. If you look at the picture on the mooring consulation paper the facilties block is not there in the artists impression they have used. I would presume that someones surveyors didnt do their job properly I do not tihnk they should be moved at all, they have been there for years. we have already had waterery lane turned into 2 dead ends rather than the through route that it has always been which stops those pesky cars going along the back of the bigger houses, although the parish council will say it was for a different reason but the timing is a little suspious to say the least maybe its the sanitory station at Cowroast that stops that house from selling, maybe we should get move them as well The builder going bust is not the result of a sanitory station but the badly organised company that were doing the work. there is no way that that site should have taken as long as it did to build and for a build of that size i certainly would have expected more workers on the ground than they ever had
  9. Quick question on Marsworth Does anyone know who owns the edge on the elsen side where the chains were between the end of the houses decking to the edge of the canal from the elsen to the old BW building If this could be clarified i feel it might actually help the situation
  10. With the pressure on that hose 1/2 hour would give you enough water for a couple of showers Interesting to hear the parish council are involved, hopefully they can help Havent had any words from the new people myself but have heard of a couple of instances
  11. I have now been told to email someone else on this matter which i have done, i get a feeling it maybe the same person as discribed above Book a time, now there is the thoughts of someone with out, and i'm going to be nice here, a single idea about how this all works. Wonder how boats moving through the area are going to know who to contact and what slots are available when they set out from Leighton/Berko/Aylesbury
  12. Couple of friends went to the Bulborne open meeting and were told by Aiden Johnson Hugil that he had done it prior to this the belief was that the architect who is now running the site and 2 workers had done it. It is one of the things in my still unanswered email that i have queried so i am waiting for final confirmation
  13. it doesnt help that crt have cut the mooring chains out off the ground at Marsworth so if you are waiting for the water point while someone else is on it there is no wherer to tie up to, this is causing queues as single handers cannot tie up to use elsen or rubbish if someone is on the water I have emailed the local mooring manager with several concerns and in over 3 weeks i have only had an acknowledgement of my email. when chased 2 weeks later an apology as "someone else" was going to answer the queries One of the things that we have found out is that crt seem to think it is boaters making the floor of the new elsen wet, no its the fact that the new door is like a jailhouse door/bars and the rain is going straight through it
  14. I've seen it done on a CRT mooring but they had to ask CRT permission first and it was only for a month
  15. Sounds like another VW owner, ever tried Volkszone
  16. I really dont see the need for this in Marsworth, it has been very quiet all last year with plenty of mooring space available
  17. thought you were meant to rock the boat side to side to break through ice
  18. We have inflated car tyres on rims at the front and bank of the boat attached to the bank, this way they rise and fall with the water level and are a platform for our cats to get onto so they can get back to the bank
  19. Cheers, will go and have alooksie
  20. Cheers dude, could i ask what make and model it is Kind regards Steve
  21. i was looking at the a*** rated smart tvs the other day as we currently have a 3amp 12v tv at 22" and i really fancied something bigger What i noticed and no one in the store could explian to me is why the tv watt rating on the sticker on the front was, in about 10 tvs i looked at, about 1/2 the rating stamped on the bank of the telly They mumbled something about typical use Anyone know why this is, Hi there, is this a wattage that you have measured Kind regards
  22. any reason why we cant have kissing gates, 3rd one down has an ability to open to allow moterised wheelchairs through so that would work for people with prams http://www.wildlifetrusts.org/accessiblereserves
