  1. So, This Economy setting: Is Anyone using this Function. If a unit is rated at 200w then surely it doesn't matter on the voltage it will just mean the current is higher. 200W @240V = 0.833A 200W @208V = 0.961A And @12V 200W = 16.66 A So I will be still drawing 16.6A from the batteries no matter what the output voltage is set to. An I missing something here How can they say the saving will be Aprox 10%. Just wondering Bob
  2. To put the batteries into Equalization it says you have to toggle DIP switch B SW8.. Off-On-Off pulse Is there a better way of doing this as you have to take the cover off to get at the dip switches. Is there an add-on Box you can control this function? On my old Heart Mastervolt I can press two buttons and it automatically goes into EQ mode. Just wondered if this can do it too. Also Energy saving/Economy mode Anyone use it? Is it ok to run at 208v instead of 230. bob
  3. I have the US2200 xc they are fantastic. Even with a broken inverter they just keep going. When you read the blurb on the US website they say they are Deep Cycle and can go down to 5.2v (10.4v in series) Ive never taken them past 12.0 and they are nearly 4 years old. 464aph in series, parallel. Keeps my recording studio going strong. Bob
  4. two things, Is your Charger set up for the correct batteries? second I saw you had a clamp meter on order. I got one and found out my mastervolt was nadged as with the inverter on and nothing connected it was drawing 10A from the battery. Worth a check.... Bob
  5. I moved to a mac for the recording studio and no matter what interface I use it just works. I have had it with Windows especial 1/2 way through a recording session and I get a Blues screen Now with Win7 it just locked. The other problem is it kept resetting my audio system to the extent it took ages to get an interface working. I know the mac is expensive but believe me you will be spitting feathers in a few days after switching. You have already said you mac is getting old I bet its never let you down. I must say I agree with some comments about putting Linux on its very mac like. Bob
  6. no im not. As if I would lie to you.... this is a copy of the email I received. Maybe they were telling porkies to hid the fact they couldnt get any units. ---- Thank you for your order. We’ve just had an update on Matervolt Mass Combi Inverter/Charger unit from Mastervolt: ‘Mastervolt M36012005 has been the subject of a Mastervolt re-call meaning our stock had to be returned. We are expecting to be able to ship stock again 23/1/2015.’ Many apologies for the delay and any inconvenience caused. Could you let us know if you are happy to wait? Kind regards, Lucia Tothova Admin Cactus020 01179 114 111
  7. I have just put in an order for a 12/2000-100 mastervolt Combi #36012005 and was told there was an ongoing re-call so they are out of stock until the end of the month. I dont mind waiting but I was wondering if anyone got one and have they had received any information on the re-call? Bob
  8. Most Two have been replaced this was an old one I was trying to save. I know I will have to get it replaced in the near future. Just trying to get through the cold patch Bob
  9. Thanks all, So It is a Mixture or WD40, Vaseline, Pencil Lead, 3-in-1 Oli, Armorall and KY Jelly (With Mustard) Im sure it will work Thanks all.
  10. Good Morning all Just a quickie I had a Cratch zip pop on me last week which took a long time to get the teeth realigned and sorted. It does seem very heavy when I pull the Cratch zip down now so, does anyone have a plan for lubricating them with out them going completely. Bob
  11. Get a Crossbow. Much nicer clean and silent.
  12. They were in Harfield Marina for a long time whenthe owner got locked up. You dont need a license to be in Harefield (or BSS or Insurance).
  13. Had a bit of Alfresco boating this weekend. So lovely and to my knowledge I was not spotted by anyone I thought about the kilt option but its still clothes.
  14. I try not to cause offense when I am boating naked down the Cut, Yes some times some people pop of the hedge so all i do is step inside and pull up. I guess in the past two years Ive been seen 2 or 3 times and never had any comments. Mind you there was one day when I was a bit late "Pulling Up" and a bloke on a push bike came by smiling at me.. We are not talking about blatant forceful nakedness ie, demanding my rights to shop in Asda in the Buff! Im just talking about enjoying the beauty of the canals in a uninhibited state. My (Girl) friend who liked it so much was trying to get her friends to come along to experience it too. Oh well. Just don't point and laugh when you pass..
  15. Nope. lol Oh that was a long time ago, Im dry now.. <Cough>
  16. Dear all, Whilst out crusing a few years ago I met an old boater in just shorts and over a pint he told me that he often boats naked when no one is around. I tried it last year and this year on my own and this year I managed to persuaded a friend who is a Girl not a GF to do the same when we were out. She thought it was a unique experience and we managed to do this on a few trips over the summer. I was so beautiful standing on the back of my trad stern sailing down the Lower GU south of Cowley out of sight of everyone with just a warm breeze around the stern. Does anyone else do this? Before you say its not legal “Under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 it is not an offence to be naked in public in England and Wales. It becomes an offence if it can be proved the person stripped off with the intention to cause distress, alarm or outrage.” So Becomes offence if it can be proved the person stripped off with the intention to upset and shock but the Complainant has to prove this… But as I pull the shorts up when I meet anyone I think I have it covered (in both ways) Bob
  17. 3 is good, in Harefield I get 5 down and 2 up in Rickmansworth 14 down and 2.5 up (3G) and 40 Down 10 Up (4G) I also have a O2 sim as there is a 4g mast almost on the marina I get 10 down and 1.5 up. The only problems is I have found 3 drop the service at 22:20 on Tuesdays and Fridays which is a pain when I'm trying to do a radio show. so That is why I have have a spare O2 sim which gets used for that. O2 is very expensive for data. £15 for 3GB of 4G 3 is £15 for 15GB 3G or4G I use a 3G/4G router all sims work well you just need to get the right APN settings. (O2 was so secretive about it!). Bob
  18. Good for you, I do a Radio show from my Boat twice a week all blues. If you record your show I would be happy to broadcast it on my station too
  19. All the boats that are in Harefield and not licensed/insured etc don't move so the only time they would cause a problems is if you hit one. Saying that one or two go to the pump out ever 2-3 months but... Ive checked and as I said, an unlicensed marina BSS/insurance/License is not required. No one is forcing you to stay in an unlicensed Marina. I dont think there has been a incident there for years certainly the 3 1/2 years Ive been there. Its probably one of the most tranquil places around and 20 mins to London too. Bob
  20. If you are in a Unlicensed marina, there is no need for Insurance, saftey or a License. many of the boats here in Hairfield havnt been licenced since 2004. I am fully licenced and take my boat out all the time but I cant say about all the others Insurance/Saftey etc bit I do know of a few that havn't got any at all. Bob Sry if this dosnt make sense, 25 yrd old Chery Casked Single Malt taking its toll.
  21. Turn the lights off and cruse on the silver sheene on the cut. Best boating is at night.
  22. Anyone know if the dredging has been completed ?
  23. Sorry its taken too long to reply I was on the road for a dew days. Hammond were impressed about the B3 going on to a Narrow boat they did an Article about it on their Hammond website in their Blog and it made a few Hammond journals in the US. The piece is about 1/2 way down the page. Edited to add: New 300w Leslie 3300 arrived So much better then the 860 but a little bigger too. Boat lists a little (lol)
  24. Totally agree, baby oil is good for old and tired shells. I found a baby oil specialist from an advert in a phone box in London she came on the boat and made life sparkle again. Each visit costs £100 but talk about rejuvenation So lovely. Bob
