  1. Stormforce I haven't posted on either of your threads but I will do now First of all I am not a coward and I am a plain speaker Secondly I know Ange, whom you have attacked, and she is a lovely person. You do not have the right to attack her so personally, inaccurately and so nastily Thirdly I don't know Starcoaster personally, whom you have also attacked personally and nastily and, I am pretty sure from what I do know of her, inaccurately. You don't have that right either. If you are a woman I visualise you as what I call 'a barbie doll', lovely to look at but empty on the inside. I know women like that and they do tend to look down on others they perceive to be less beautiful than they, as you do. I don't like them, can spot them a mile off, and will not have anything to do with them because usually they are horrible people. You do show those signs If you are a man then you are hiding behind a false identity that includes a false gender. Now that seems to me to be the height of cowardice itself and yet you accuse others of it. Do you see the irony in that? I don't know what drives you to be so vicious. Do you do it because it amuses you? If so whatever gender you are you are a nasty person. Did you turn vicious because after your first post you found yourself under attack and so are defending yourself by going on the attack? If that is the case then I suggest you just damned well grow up I think what you have said about Ange and Starcoaster is disgusting, reprehensible and do you know what? I really really wish you would stop, go away and not repeat the exercise

  9. Well, I signed up to the draft form of this manifesto, and I've sought to highlight it on this and other forums. What have you done to improve the future direction of our waterways? Brian

  10. That unfortunately the type of respose we have come to expect from you Sue, telling us what we should do, and should have been doing, but with no information about how we can access the process in order that we can fulfil her expectations. I am at a loss as to how I can participate in a process which is being deliberately kept a secret. Given how much money I pay both directly and indirectly to BW, would it have been too much trouble for them to send me some information in the post. It is all very well depending upon word of mouth and Internet consultation, but if you do not know that something is happeningm, how can you participate?

  11. Why all the negative and cynical attitudes? If Tony or anyone else has actually seen one in action or talked to others who have then they can actually give us some objective reviews, but as for everyone else.... you're just guessing and in that sense your negative comments are just as spurious as the positive claims of the manufacturers. Perhaps you're all correct, but I'm sure the design of props has evolved somewhat since 1827 when the Austrian-Czech constructor Josef Ressel invented a screw propeller based on a section of the Archimedes screw. The point is that probably 90% of the so-called improvements in mechanical engineering end up in the dustbin of history, but a few do work, so perhaps we should keep an open mind.

  13. My problem is that I am not quite sure who Peter Underwood thinks he represents. Going by what Peter Underwood says above it appears he represents "Serious Boaters" so I guess that excludes me. His boaters manifesto is very flawed and to me looks like a "wish list" well like many boaters (that is ordinary boaters not serious ones) I also have a long wish list but would hardly call it a manifesto. I do travel around the waterways a fair bit and speak to many "ordinary boaters" and the majority of them are not so concerned about the change to a charity (including myself) Peter Underwood seems to be coming at this having made up his mind that this is going to be a disaster, so again I am not sure I will be taking much notice of what he says. I come from the school that says "what can I do to make this a success?" We are where we are and in my opinion time would be better spent making sure the new charity is a success than just predicting disaster.
