  1. My Caprice (Thetford), gas cooker has been serviced twice, tbe first time was really a safety check by a fitter, boat safe , lpg qualified, he fitted a test point. The second was done by Shire Cruisers, and involved dismantling burners, and specialist cleaning. Replacement burners proved difficult to source / fit It depends on your installation, but generally, I've found its much easier to replace like for like If the gas is not getting through, I would suspect condensate, presumably one could use air jet pressure to clean the pipes, assuming the issue is within the appliance, one does not want to buy a new appliance to find the problem persists. I have persisted with my cooker, it is proper heavy duty quality, and serviceable.
  2. And yet..... The currently "dangerous" situation re gas on new-builds is leading to how many gas explosions each week on newly commissioned narrowboats? None, I'd suggest. Or we would be hearing about them, don't you think?
