Oil Change Disaster

Always spin any engine i do an oil change to get pressure up, with petrol remove ht lead with diesel lift decompressors. Seems kind.

with my engine the oil pressure comes up almost instantly (about 3 seconds if cranking and less than a second if it fires), so I tend to start with no heaters if the engine has been stood for a few months or has had the oil drained for a change.

not using the heaters means the engine turns over on the starter for about 10 seconds longer than normal.

for day to day running I allow the time for the heaters and it starts on the first touch of the key

I hold the stop button down while cranking if the engine has been left for any length of time...

I doubt there are any real world benefits for me doing this but it makes me feel like I am getting some oil around before starting up, presuming there is enough in the battery.
