Seems kind. with my engine the oil pressure comes up almost instantly (about 3 seconds if cranking and less than a second if it fires), so I tend to start with no heaters if the engine has been stood for a few months or has had the oil drained for a change. not using the heaters means the engine turns over on the starter for about 10 seconds longer than normal. for day to day running I allow the time for the heaters and it starts on the first touch of the key Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Paringa Posted September 26, 2018 Report Share Posted September 26, 2018 I hold the stop button down while cranking if the engine has been left for any length of time... I doubt there are any real world benefits for me doing this but it makes me feel like I am getting some oil around before starting up, presuming there is enough in the battery.
