Yes, but then I’d be forced to use iMaps. Maybe I’ll give it a try some time.

Waze on Android accepts voice directions.

You just tap the microphone icon and it listens to where you want to go.

Surely it does it on iOS too?

Oooh, I’ll try it tomorrow :)

No you wouldn't. As I said. That is unless Waze doesn't accept voice commands on iOS which seems unlikely.

I have tried the stand alone version of this but dislike the way it needs to connect to the internet just to do simple things like play a tune that is on your phone.

I've just tried mine and by voice command when offline it plays any tune on my playlist, (never tried it before as I rarely listen to music)

When I try it in the car it often tells me that it can't play the tune I want due to a 'sorry you don't appear to be connected to the internet' warning, which happens if I have no phone signal.

That's why I stopped using it.

I can play music using Google music but not through Android Auto.

Or just say "OK Google"

ETA: No it doesn't. Doh!

Tried that but it brought up Google maps rather than Waze, even though Waze was already open

Yeah I got that wrong. You're too quick on the button for me

My head's hurting again.

I shout "OK Dougal" at mine. Seems to work, though I get some funny looks (I used to get them anyway before the smartphone though)

What, funny looks from the dog?

Okay, it works quite well...

”Hey Siri, open Waze”

Waze opens. Hit mic button...

”Hey Waze, drive home”

‘Okay, driving home. You have reached your destination.’

I’ll experiment some more next time I go out. Thanks for the info :)
