Habitent - Temporary Cockpit Canopy??

I think I would rather have something that is built to actually fit the boat, rather than a Nylon bag held on with Bungy and ratchet straps.

It is designed to be used on 'high gunwhales' where you step down into the boat - on a cruiser stern NB you don't have such 'luxury' and the tent will be only 4 foot high at the highest point (above the deck). You'd be living in it 'on the crawl'.

Buy the right thing and only buy 'once'.

I think their own instructions may answer the question :

The Habitent is a temporary shelter and should be cared for as follows:-

  • Rinse the unit with fresh water on a regular basis.
  • Dismantle and stow the unit when you are not present at your boat.
  • The Habitent is intended as a temporary shelter to be used when moored in moderate weather conditions.
