What is this engine?

Infact here is davids engine. As you see comes from side up over and back.

Even shows the water pipe too.

That comes up from between the cylinders, which is what ours did with the old manifold.

Swerving off topic for a sec, what's going on with that starter motor? There is no ring gear on the flywheel so how does it turn the engine over? A rubber wheel or some such thing?!

I think that's a flywheel cover, and is cut close to the starter pinion cover hiding the ring beneath.

Ah I geddit now. I thought it was an oddly wide flywheel too!

Sorry yes had a flywheel cover over the top painted red so sort of looks like part of the flywheel has a cut out for the starter

But most you see seam to have diffrent setups but again there are differences on nearly every engine you look at that are the same if im honest. Most nationals you look at have diffrent setups most bollys do even modern engines are diffrent even when put in by same builders
