Raw water cooling problem

I've just been pondering on the value of a lifejacket in that waterway, if you fell off the roof (on either side) you would land on the bank !

If by some chance you did manage to fall in the gap between the side and the bank, when it inflated you might find yourself wedged like a cork

 

It's not quite that narrow - there's about four feet of reeds before you get to the bank.

 

Anyway, it's the risk of banging my head on the way down that made me wear a lifejacket. For me, scrubbing a wet roof is an activity with a higher than usual risk of falling off...

That answers my question about how wide reach Lode is!

I think you would get up there, but it tends to be weedy

Thanks all. He got RCR out in the end. I never did find out exactly what had happened, but at least I learned a thing or two about raw water cooling (mainly that I'm glad I don't have it, I think!)
