Message Mrs Tawny Owl (Sue) or RLWP (Richard) of this forum, and I'm sure they should be able to sort you out. Sue runs Marine Engine Services (Midlands) who specialise in Lister parts, and Richard regularly works on the relevant engines and gearboxes.

Finding it really difficult to use my new phone, my apologies Richard....yes the external one, it has been suggested that I build the 10mm indent up with weld, but soursing a new one would be more to my liking, I thought replacing the spring would be a good idea whilst I'm at it.

The software seems to mess up people with 'phones more than on other devices

 

I'll have a check. I suspect we don't have any detents, and I need one for another boat. So I'm probably going to have to make one - If so I'll make a few

Hi Neil:

 

This is a thread on the 2G gearbox: http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=68741

 

If you gearbox is dropping out of forward gear it is either:

 

  • The toggles are not overcentreing properly and locking the clutch or
  • the external screw needs slackening off to allow the lever to move forward a bit more.

The external lever never holds the gearbox in forward or reverse, the gearbox does that itself

Hehe...I asked you the same question last year.

That settles it - I'm going to get a batch made. I think I can shift two straight off, and they regularly crop up in Enquiries

If anyone wants a 4G gear cluster I'm open to VERY reasonable offers…..complete but condition unknown….As fitted to JPM4's and poss FRM6's…..feel free to get in touch!!

 

PS I've tried a ad ages ago but no takers…..Im sure it might be useful to someone if they are searching Blackstone gearboxes!

Have you tried the owner of keel Misterton who is rebuilding a JK4, perhaps same box? He's flatplane8 on this forum.
