best diesel prices on the Llangollen ?

As the title really, we are leaving our winter mooring in Llangollen & pottering along towards the shroppie, will need a top up sometime in the next couple of weeks or so, any suggestions

When you get onto the Shroppie, are you turning left or right? Or left-right up the Middlewich branch? AFAIK all the places you can buy diesel on the Llangollen itself are quite expensive, but once you get onto the Shroppie its much cheaper.

Don't know how soon you need topping up but it would seem that Turners Garage (yes a garage) at bridge 19 on the SU is generally one of the cheapest. They have a pontoon on the right just before the bridge that you can moor on. Its about 77 miles from where you are

Might be worth the cost of a phone call to Whixall marina to ask their price but if you can get to Turners they are very hard to beat.

Turners would be good but we are heading towards Middlewich with a diversion to Nantwich, got half a tank so okay for a couple of weeks max, don't like it to get too low but resent paying top price when oil has dropped in price

I think Nantwich Marina or Venetian Marina then. King's Lock also do diesel. Worth phoning these three for prices and comparing with some on the Llangollen (you haven't said where on the Llangollen you are......so we don't know which ones you'll pass).

The Texaco garage at the bottom of the Grindley Brook staircase is the cheapest. Self service, you will need to take containers. Cheapest on the Shroppie is still Turners at Weaton Aston.

If you are going to Nantwich, then Nantwich canal Centre are reasonable. I think they are 79p at the moment (which is quite good for this area). Worth a call to Kings Lock if you want a tankful as they will often do a deal for 100 litres plus.
