Original message: A tree has fallen due to this morning's high winds blocking
navigation near Bridge 150 Broadmoor Bridge.

Contractors will be attending site. More information to follow.
Winding holes are near Bridge 147 and Bridge 153.

Is anyone on site or nearby please? Are any boats involved in the tree fall?

 

I moored my boat ALDEBARAN right at Broadmoor lock yesterday. I called CRT just now and they said no boats are involved, but I'm still a bit concerned.

Broadmoor is the one above Cropredy. The bottom of the group of three (the other two being Varneys and Elkington)

Yes its bridge 150 where Appletree road crosses the cut. I'm moored immediately uphill of the lock. Many thanks!!!!

 

All is probably well but would be nice for it to be confirmed by someone actually on the spot

Just read MtB's request. We're holed-up at Slat Mill lock, just South of Cropredy. It's rather wet and imminently dark to go up there now, but will report tomorrow, either when we pass once it's cleared, or if still blocked, we'll take a walk to see what's happening. I hope it gets cleared soon: the Banter won't wait!

Update at 1650. I wonder what is meant by "normal" ... Anyway, banter can now resume.

normal.

This being the South Oxford, "normal" probably means "shallow and bendy". That's good news.

 

Still windy and very wet here, but the forecast for tomorrow is much better.
