Not much help I'm afraid.

We have a 48ft narrow boat built by Steelcraft in 1989 for Blisworth Tunnel Boats. Our boats current name is Siloam but how can we find out its original name? We called in at BTB last year but they have no record of our boat . mellow.gif

The previous owner of Blisworth Tunnel Boats is still on the system, and may know the answer- it will be the name of a tunnel and Blisworth boat names were roughly in proportion to the tunnel length so Standedge Tunnel was a 70ft boat. However, since you don't have enough posts, I can't send you a PM to tell you who and how to get in contact.

Regards

People may remember having seen this boat before the name was changed because the draught is less than normal. I presume that it was a prototype boat that could use our waterways without wasting money on dredging.

Type the bw number into jim sheads site it should return all the boats registered under that number.

Jim Shead's website will only list boats registered at and after 2005 when this information became available under the Freedom of Information Act. Boats registered prior to 2005 (and not still registered in 2005), along with any earlier boat name will not be included.

Post number 2 of this thread is taken directly from Mr Shead's website and is the only boat / boat name listed under B.W.B. index number 73888 (which was issued in 1987).

My Boat us listed with two different names one of which is the original which it still had in 2005....

There is at least one other reference to it there when it had An EA number and all before I bought it and changed its name again.

I guess the proof will be next year when it should appear with 3 names on the same number.

ETA I see you have edited that makes more sense now
