ditchcrawler
I spotted this boat at Oulton Broad this week. It is moored outside the Wherry Hotel which is closed for refurbishment so I couldn't get close to the boat to look at it. soldthehouse
To state the obvious its a fishing boat, but I presume you knew that, looks in good shape, I had one the same colour but it was in poor shape and located on the crinan canal. this one has had the steel wheelhouse removed and all the fishing gear removed thats a lot of tedious work done. Somebody has got a nice start there. I,ll try and fish [pardon the pun a photo of mine out. This is mine as was never seen this photo before http://www.scottishcanals.co.uk/things-to-do/organisation-suppliers/oakfield-bridge http://s0.geograph.org.uk/photos/88/81/888157_0a720867.jpg Edited February 25, 2012 by soldthehouse
Derek R.
Much the same as the fishing boat that moored alongside us on the Thames. CARONEL was its name, owned by an ex-RAF pilot flying passenger jets for a commercial airline. Not many people know that . . . Edited February 26, 2012 by Theo Remove possibly sensitive info. carlt
The hull reminds me a lot of saltysplash's gorgeous old boat, Emblem, a Scottish seine netter.
saltysplash
The hull reminds me a lot of saltysplash's gorgeous old boat, Emblem, a Scottish seine netter. That was my first thought when I saw that pic. she looks a bit heftier then Emblem but certainly has similar lines to a Forbes of Sandhaven boat, Heavily framed and planked for North Sea work Also the classic upsweep of the deck. Emblem as she is now http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://intheboatshed.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Another-double-ended-mfv-2.jpg&imgrefurl=http://intheboatshed.net/2010/08/22/the-medway-by-paddlesteamer-part-1/&usg=__GCZFlmmv61MW7cCL05eGlS7_g7E=&h=960&w=1280&sz=500&hl=en&start=40&zoom=1&tbnid=BHGI0Py9dAwFEM:&tbnh=113&tbnw=150&ei=-LRJT4i8IcLW8QPR-tiFDg&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dmfv%26start%3D20%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Dvss%26sa%3DN%26gbv%3D2%26tbm%3Disch&itbs=1 and a bit further along the Medway is another Forbes Boat http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://intheboatshed.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Another-double-ended-mfv-2.jpg&imgrefurl=http://intheboatshed.net/2010/08/22/the-medway-by-paddlesteamer-part-1/&usg=__GCZFlmmv61MW7cCL05eGlS7_g7E=&h=960&w=1280&sz=500&hl=en&start=40&zoom=1&tbnid=BHGI0Py9dAwFEM:&tbnh=113&tbnw=150&ei=-LRJT4i8IcLW8QPR-tiFDg&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dmfv%26start%3D20%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Dvss%26sa%3DN%26gbv%3D2%26tbm%3Disch&itbs=1 Nice Edited February 26, 2012 by saltysplash
