No probs here either.

You'd be well advised to run your antivirus and antimalware scanners!

Had same problem day before yesterday for 36 hours with JustCanals forum but this one has been solid for me all through.

Cheers all,

This has got to be a problem with my home Virgin broadband.

I'm on now using my 3 dongle in a USB port on my desktop PC and it's working just fine, as it does on my iPhone when using Orange 3G.

If I use either my desktop or iPhone through my home broad band it is a PITA.

Only this site though which is as I say weird...

ETA - just found another web site that won't load either (York Duchess music venue) so it looks defo. like its down to Virgin somewhere.

Or perhaps something to do with your browser?

Cheers Richard,

But the browser I'm using right now with my 3 dongle is Firefox and therefore the same as I use with my Virgin home BB...

ETA - and I did try IE and it was as bad...

Could you expand on that, a bit, Richard?

I've been using Opera, for the last few days because Chrome has been so slow.

Oh, er, um. No?

Something to do with caches, or proxy settings and stuff.

Google "Chrome slow" perhaps? That's what I'd do

Richard

There are major network outages in several parts of the UK today some due to "weather".

Interesting and I don't dispute it - their naffing useless service availability checker as you would expect makes no mention of it...

ETA - or rather it din't this morning - however, just checked again and -

Martin, a cure-all - switch everything off - go boating!

Well sometimes it is not as easy as just dropping everything and going boating - but we spent a nice afrernoon in Whitby instead.

What is your not so weird daughter using?

The less weird ( and not so daft one because she lives at home) sponges off the back of my BB connection.

That's OK

Richard

She is a bit like me in regard to stuff like pirated DVD's CD's and illeagal downloads as in dead against it, so I'm pretty sure she wouldn't have been uisng Kazar(?sp) or stuff of that ilk.

I think I may have identified the source of the problem (see above) as in Virgin. I'm not at home at the mo so can't check for sure till tommorrow.

It's a DNS problem....Virgin are fixing it, allegedly. Roll on next Wednesday when we escape from Virgin broadband.

It seems it was - flying again this morning.

To be fair to them it's only the second issue I've had with their service since I've been with them. I find it pretty reliable 99.9% of the time.

being cable its generally faster too...
