Vitron Inverter/Charger

Can anyone beat RLWP to it

Seriously, as justme say's. We'll need a lot more info than you've given.

The range/combination of potential equipment in a Victron 'system' is huge.

Also, what are the symptoms when it trips?

I'm not allowed to. If I do, the gnome that lives in the distributor of my MG says he is going to stop sending sparks out. He's already decided to go part-time on number 3 as it is...

A friend has a vitron system which is 5 years old. It know seems it is tripping out all the time, anyone know why

If it's the internal overload that keeps popping out then that is quite a common thing on the Multiplus from that generation, unfortunately it's in theory a Victron repair job.

I think more details might be needed.

Which victron?

Which bit is tripping & when?

Exactly what cause the trips?

Its a combi unit. It trips out when the battery charger unit kicks in. We have tried the usual unplugging all the 240v units. It has now given up charging completely. So have had to circumnavigate the charger unit to get 240v into the boat. We are having to charge the batteries via the engine. It sounds like we might have to take it to Victron to sort

Ok few more questions

Where is the 240 coming from?

(shore line or genny or travel power)

Do you have the VE configue software & computer link?

If a genny what is its make model & kw size?

Has the "accept wide frequecy range" been selected

Has the "weak AC input" been selected

Do you have loads that with the charger load are greater than the genny can supply?

Have you tried disconnecting the inverter out put & running that charger to see if it still trips?

Have you checked the bat voltages during

before charging

during charging (thinking here that the inverter is shutting down due to high bat V)

after charging
