DHutch
if i turn the firewall off everything is ok.mail in and out if firewall is off nothing in or out if it is on. Its the firewall thats buggering it up then! - What firewall do you use? Also you browser is the program that allows you to browes the web, in your case microsofts's internet exploer (or IE to its friends) - Others are Mozzila/FireFox, Opera, and Netscape. Also, if worst comes to worse, tyr and find somone who will sort it for you, eather a 'techy' frend/relative/nabour, or a small/local PC outlet. Liam
Gaggle, Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Norton Internet Security package? I used to use it myself, but it's a hell of a drain on your system. Maybe it's worth looking into some other solution to the security side of things? gaggle
i have finally given up the ghost on norton internet security. demanded a refund they say ok but the stuff on my system that has gone up the wall is major. i am just off to see a mate about saving stuff, like all my music files pics and stuff like that before i do a full recovery disc thing. i have done that once before and that recovery will be a doddle to what i have had to go through with norton helpline, that was a complete waste of time. i got my mooring friday and could not have been happier and then this computer went haywire and to top that the boat can,t go in tomorrow, nothing major wrong but a bit of a downer anyway. later anyway
