15.25pm Sunday 10th May Annie's tea rooms in Thrupp (oxfordshire). Over the lift bridge and there it is.

Lovely cake, lovely tea - what more does one need for a banter!

See you there.

Delightful subject! On our shared boat we had loads of problems the main one being people using too much toilet roll and not flushing enough. the loo roll would soak up any liquid in the tank and cause a build up below the hole instead of levelling out. It also makes it difficult to pump out which won't fully happen unless tank is flushed at emptying time and believe me there are many yards out there that do not do this so be prepared to help with this if necessary! We got to the point one season where when the pump out was done, the tank was still half full so always shine a torch in and have a look before your journey as you don't want to have to pump out after 3 days as we have had to in the past. Not much fun but well worth adding to your pre departure check list. So just make sure that all on board know how to 'use' the toilet, less toilet roll and adequate flush!.

Also make sure that no wipes of any description are put down there as this causes blockages in the pipes out too. You can buy brass plaques that read along the lines of "do not put anything in except what has been consumed first" apart from loo roll in moderate quantities, blue (or whatever colour) and water - good advice.

This post makes me heartily grateful that we went for the Porta Potti option!

Thanks for all(?) the above. Offer just been accepted subject to bits and pieces being correct. Going to try without blue stuff for a start.

Regards to all

p.s. I won't be able to make it for the tea and cakes!
