Police involved in narrowboat chase....

Featured Posts

You couldn't make it up .... or could you

You don`t need to . Many years ago I was working on the slip at Adlington above Wigan on the L to L . A boat was used in a canalside robbery half a mile away and ( yes - this is true ) a posse of policemen commandeered a day boat ( if I remember rightly) and set off up the cut accompanied by cries of "Head `em off at the pass" etc. from my oppo and myself. They did have the good grace both to laugh and look embarrased.

Didn't they get the chopper out for that recent one which was nicked form Sawley and painted black?

I also think I remember hearing that Holly got the same... not sure about Cragdale.

To be fair, the chopper is the best way to look for a stolen boat, it can cover large distances very quickly.

Newsbiscuit is a great site if you are into satirical humour, well worth a visit!
