Affinity water are a bit behind the times this idea has been around for over 150 years.

From the article:

"Ahead of the launch of its new Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP) Affinity Water has spoken publicly about how it plans to invest in a multi-million-pound scheme to bring new water supplies down from the Midlands to its Central supply region and into the Home Counties."

Seems a great idea to me. If one looks at a globe, one will notice it is downhill all the way from the midlands to London and the Home Counties.

I expect Mr Hunt has just noticed this and had a Good Idea.

October, Buckby flight being surveyed, about 12 orange clad bods with lots of expensive kit.

They didn't realise that water was already pumped back up from the Milton Keynes/Great Ouse level to the top of the Watford flight to maintain navigation in times of low rainfall.....which seems to be a bit of an oversight.
