That's a bit harsh. In this case Jim Stretch and his staff have worked hard. I wouldn't have expected any thing less of him and his crew. Credit where credit is due.

As we intend to wend our way back towards the E midlands via Brum and Warwick from Llangollen,  I have been monitoring crt stoppages, especially Audlem. Facebook posts make the liklihood of closure imminent,  but counter posts contradict this. Think we will ignore Facebook posts and keep our fingers crossed.

Facebook posts I've seen say the flight was blocked yesterday by an issue with the lower gate or cill of lock 8, but back in action within a couple of hours.

Exactly the same thing happened a fortnight ago; I suspect there's simply some stray brick or so that gets stuck behind the cill...

 

I'm at Nantwich and lots of boats are passing both ways, yesterday and today.
