Leeds Lock No1 on the A&C

Leeds Lock No1 A&C now restricted passage possibly till 4th Aug maybe fully open sooner or maybe longer , depending on the work required. Link below.

Having read it its not as bad as first looking. It is in fact open 2 hours each day.

 Have amended to restriction👍Yes it’s more of a restricted passage than a closure, but they say Navigation closed? Hopefully it will not get worse over the next few day, necessitating a complete closure.

With my pedants hat on, is not Leeds Lock on the Aire and Calder?

Lock 1 on the L & L is River Lock. Lock 1 on the A & C is outside the Royal Armouries.

Its the one outside the armouries where the issue is. On the A&C.

We got stopped from going through Leeds lock on one occasion 15 years or so ago. There were high winds from an unusual direction and panes of glass were getting sucked off the north end of the Royal Armouries and landing on the towpath by the lock.

Think we were moored in the dock then. Cladding blown off the sides of some of

the buildings?
