Clive 1L2 Posted June 25, 2023 Report Posted June 25, 2023 Good afternoon all, we’ve just come back from the historic boat show at Braunston. As much as I’d love to enter, our boat was made by Barry Hawkins in 2003 but it does have a Gardner 1L2 ( not sure of the vintage). I’m trying to see if there is a Gardner owner club, there seems to be a few clubs and forums that deal with road going Gardner’s but I can’t find anything regarding Gardner powered canal boats. Any help out there? cheers Clive

Make yourself known to a few historic boat owners with a Gardner and you should be able to secure a place on a Gardner-engined boat in the parade. And if that is not successful one of us lesser-engined boats will probably be happy to accommodate you!
Clive 1L2 Posted June 26, 2023 Author Report Posted June 26, 2023 Thank you for your reply David, we are new it boat ownership but intend to join the historic boat club and hopefully get to now people that way, our problem is we live down in East Sussex so the main network is a good trip away. If I join the Gardner club that will help also. Maybe we’ll bump into you (not literally) with Clancy J, if we do, make yourself known. Thanks again. Hi Clancy, thank you for that, I think that is just what I was looking for. 4 minutes ago, Clive 1L2 said: Thank you for all your replies, I’ll look forward to the rally in August and hopefully meet some of you there.
