Open canal map historic map

Hi folks does anyone happen to know what map is used for the historic overlay on Open canal maps app?

I've not seen it but might it be the OS 6 inch from 1888-1913? 

 

I find this the best map to use on the NLS side by side viewer as it is very detailed. 

 

 

Location chosen at random (near Southall of all places !)

The NLS site has quite a lot of other map options on the left hand panel.

 

If you haven't done it before google NLS side by side and do some time travel.

 

Its wicked.

According to the developers website it's an 1880's map sourced from the Library of Scotland.

Indeed, it shows how big Tunnel End reservoir used to be compared to the piddling pond and stream it is now

Thanks everyone, I've used the NLS website but can't seem to find this particular map on it. Might be because the interface is a bit harder on a phone..

I did it on my phone.  It is the OS 6 inch map on the left hand pane. 

 

You tap on the layers button and it brings up a menu with a list of maps. 

 

The OS 25 inch gives more detail but not sure on the dates.

They usually have a few even older maps if you use Mapfinder rather than Side by Side or Georeferenced Maps, I use them all the time when updating CanalMapOnline.
