Access to River Weaver from west?

Is it possible to access the Weaver by travelling north on the Shropshire and going thru Ellesmere Port? Map seems to show access

Yes but involves a passage on the ship canal with extra paperwork/coir and booking the lock with CRT at marsh lock. 
 

It’s a fun trip but needs a little planning.

Getting the inspection and certificate of seaworthiness (or whatever) was the most difficult and expensive bit (difficult to get a suitable surveyor, the inspection itself was easy), though getting the paperwork to Peel was also a bit tricky. The trip itself is interesting and mostly easy...but do check and double check that there are no huge tugs running down the ship canal at full speed. 😀
