Felshampo Posted January 10, 2022 Report Posted January 10, 2022 Not used them since last year when they seemed fine. This year my 2LW was very cold so gave each lever a few pulls prior to starting. One was as expected giving a certain amount of resistance. The other one was too easy with virtually no resistance. I was able to start the engine but wonder what the problem is with the charging lever, should I be concerned?

Try it again after you have turned the engine a bit by hand, they usually stop in the same place every time.
Split Pin Posted January 10, 2022 Report Posted January 10, 2022 It maybe that the easy one was already towards the end of the fuel element travel in which case it wouldnt be in a position to let more fuel in so nothing to pump. If the engine is running correctly there is probably nothing to be concerned about. You might try it again now that the engine has been running and see if it is the same or if it is now about the same as the other one.

Hasn't made any difference though. 2 minutes ago, Split Pin said: It maybe that the easy one was already towards the end of the fuel element travel in which case it wouldnt be in a position to let more fuel in so nothing to pump. The engine is running fine but the lever still has no resistance.
BEngo Posted January 10, 2022 Report Posted January 10, 2022 If the engine runs fine apply Rule 1 of maintenance engineering: If it ain't broken, don't fix it. N
