Tottenham Lock

Featured Posts

Long time since I posted as Zodiak which we sold in 2017.

Am at Ponders End on the River Lee.  Crt say Tottenham lock open only 10 to 12am but locals say not necessarily so?

Also we seemed stymied by Regent's Canal stoppage between locks 3 and 4 and behind us tree not cleared at Ramney Marsh yet.

Any info on any of the above would be welcomed.

Another Regent's Canal stoppage

 PUBLISHED: FRIDAY, 21 MAY 2021

FOLLOWING the stoppage by the failure of Kentish Town Lock on Monday there is another stoppage on the Regent's Canal.

This time it is somewhat difficult to understand, as Keith Gudgin reports.

Third party asset

We are told by Canal & River Trust that both navigation and towpath are closed on the waterway from the Oblique Bridge (31) to St Pancras Lock (4), the reason given being 'third party owned asset failed'.

Both are closed until further notice, with no further information forthcoming.

But if you look at the actual stoppage notice it confirms that the problem is with Camley Street Railway Bridge (33), which presumably refers to the bridges carrying the railway lines out of St Pancras Station. These are owned by Network Rail, so hardly anything CRT have any control over.

Thanks David yes that was the one that worried me on the Regent's, the update says there are structural problems with the bridge causing objects to fall in the canal and so canal  closed until Engineers inspection and any resulting works completed so doesn't sound to me an early reopening is likely.

Hi Tim

It's so frustrating that crt have not published an update, is it just because its the weekend?

We have just walked back to ramney marsh lock to find no vegetation blocking the lock another non update by crt

Looks like we will carry on to Regent's Canal but still would good to get a crt update.

Many thanks for your information.
