The Lamb and Flag is more realistic price wise and some good beers. also do such as a good ploughmans for about seven quid. I am told there is at least one of the unmentionable pubs starting with a W.  The Gloucester arms, now called The White Rabbit is one of our faves and always busy, pre covid anyway.

The city of Oxenford is splendid but ONLY if you avoid the main shopping streets which are full of tat and people.

Otherwise it's delightrful and you may meet folks who know a lot of things about certain subjects - after all it's a seat of learning....
