Inspector Morse must have been on a blooming good salary.

Ah, yeah, but he was taking home more than the average police Inspector because, despite the title, he was a Chief Inspector. :captain:

Good pubs

But a healthy bank balance is needed

It’s possibly one of the most expensive places I’ve drank in

The Lamb and Flag is more realistic price wise and some good beers. also do such as a good ploughmans for about seven quid. I am told there is at least one of the unmentionable pubs starting with a W.  The Gloucester arms, now called The White Rabbit is one of our faves and always busy, pre covid anyway.

The city of Oxenford is splendid but ONLY if you avoid the main shopping streets which are full of tat and people.

Otherwise it's delightrful and you may meet folks who know a lot of things about certain subjects - after all it's a seat of learning....

What about that Inspector Morse copper bloke?

Slice of bread and butter, bit of mousetrap cheddar, lettuce leaf, tiny pot of Branston. That'll be £7 Sir.

Blimey old bean that's far from a ploughman's in 2020. Maybe in 1970 but not today.
