10 amp solar controller

Featured Posts

I 'm getting 2 new 275w panels wired to the leisure batteries and keep a small [old], panel for the starter. I will sell two small second panels, wondering if I should sell the old controller and get a better one, eg https://www.midlandchandlers.co.uk/products/victron-bluesolar-pwm-pro-12-24v-10a-vv-100 - does this standalone?

First of all DO NOT buy a PWM controller. PWM are very inefficient.

Buy an MPPT which achieves approx. 30% more power from the same panels.

Secondly 2x 275 watt panels are capable of producing 40+ amps, a 10a controller will not last very long.

OK,

Electrician wants to hitch one [of three] existing [old] small panels to existing controller, and my new 550w to my new 40 amp controller.

So I am left with two [old] small panels to sell. I thought I would sell the existing [old] controller and get a new one, looking for a Mppt 10 amp [I think]

UPDATE

I see Bimble sell a dual battery [Batt1, Batt2] controller but not one rated at 55 amps. Any comments?

A 10 A controller should work but it will only deliver 10 A. It's excess input voltage which will destroy it. Definitely a MPPT controller though.
