  1. Hi All, Our rear step locker seemed to be getting too full, whatever we needed was always at the bottom The main material is an 'external non slip faced ply' similar to the rear deck material. ( My daughter bought an 8' x 4' sheet for me to make her a dog ramp, this was part of the left overs ). The frame is made from standard stud walling timber from Wickes. Due to the close fit ( i'm amazed ) it was part assembled in situ. Both adjacent doors open even with a carpet square on top. It works really well for the items used most days when cruising & mooring up. It also makes that step up or down easier on the ankles. Just needs a coat of varnish to get the wood matching the surrounding panels. This gives an idea of how it was made to fit our Sea Otter- Cheers, Mark.
  2. For ages now we have sat at the dinette without being able to see the water. This modification works so well & also gives extra storage . Ours is a Sea Otter boat but this idea, or similar could work on other makes. The existing seat tops were slid out of their location & taken home where 2 rectangles ( 6.5" high ) were made in Ash faced 12mm ply. This was bought locally from Arnold Laver Timber World, it matches the existing panels on the boat. Here they are in situ - Flooring - A piece of slip resistant ( spare from another job ) 18mm ply was cut fit snugly ..... 7" above the existing floor. It simply stands on 2 pieces , fixed with hinges as shown - The existing table was raised 7" by buying a new 'fixing strip' , to match the existing . Can be bought from 'caravan accessories suppliers'. All shown here - More storage ( in cat litter trays !! ) here - This modification can easily be reverted back to factory specification. Hope this may be useful. Cheers, Mark.
  3. Hi Robbo, I did reply to your post above but it seems to have gone AWOL !! LED was flashing 3 times at intervals but seems, fingers crossed to be behaving at the moment. Thanks for your input, appreciated. Mark.
  4. Many thanks to all, appreciated. Fridge has started working normally again ! Mark.
  5. Aha, the document implies 3 flashes is due to a 'motor start error'- rotar blocked or differential pressure to high .... Head scratching !
  6. Hi guys & Gals, Anyone have or know where to find a PDF or similar for a Shoreline 12v/ 24v fridge model RR46W. Thanks Mark.
  7. Hi I have altered a pair of go-cart tyres so that the tyre fits snugly on the front corners of our cabin roof. If you have a cart track near you you can usually pick them up for free. Good luck tunneling Mark
  8. Hi TC I'm on phone at the moment so have limited eBay functions. If you search on eBay for item 251413054553 that should help. I can't remember which seller I actually used but there are a few on eBay. Hope that helps Mark
  9. These timers are 12v & switch up to 16 amps, loads of options - Sold on ebay about a £5. I'm thinking of getting one for our Truma hot air heater once I know what to connect it to ! Mark.
  10. Any new boats at the new moorings will enjoy the view. Also towpath users like looking at boats. I don't think it's a bad thing. Mark.
  11. I think the LRA147 is the regulator that is fitted to your alternator. Mark.
  12. If you have roof rails you can use a bike handlebar stem ........... Note spirit level stuck on once its set up, then next time its easier to set up as you only have horizontal axis ... left / right to alter. Mark
  13. Our Numax lasted for 6 years ! We are not live aboard & they were served by solar panels. Our bow thruster battery also stopped working at 6 years after I half slipped into the canal whilst climbing off the boat whilst carrying it. Batteries don't like being thrown onto the ground, they crack & leak :0( Mark.
  14. https://picasaweb.google.com/112560807901291335175/Window?authkey=Gv1sRgCJeo5rDUlb_jEg Hi Androo I had to do take the CHANNELGLAZE window out on our Sea Otter. It was a bugger to do ! I had to use an old wall paper stripper to break the adhesive seal all around the window, then dismantelling it & cleaning the bits took ages . Eventually when the bits were all cleaned I fitted a new rubber & glass. If I had to do it again I would buy a new window complete, the type where the glass can be removed from the inside !! Good luck. Mark.
  15. It's worth pointing out that some insurance policies cover the hitting of hidden objects. Ours does with 'Haven'. Mark.
  16. Logik 24" are available from Currys, they are 12v & about £140. Extra warranty available. We bought the 22" ( it seems no longer available in 12v), it works well . These sets allow you to record 1 program to a USB stick. You won't go wrong for £140 & it's got a DVD player built in ! Mark

  18. I agree with BIZZARD Until the tanks and fuel are cleaned and you want to use the boat I'd be inclined to disconnect from those tanks temporarily and rig up a separate jury tank, easy to do by say modifying a 4 gallon jerry can or 10 gallon drum by boring a couple of holes in them to fit some simple nozzle type fittings and flexible fuel hose. It could be fitted up high to gravity feed like a day tank. A good idea !! Mark.
  19. Boat electrician, no paper qualifications required for the 12v side but obviously you need to understand how it works .... Wiring methods / standards etc 240v mains is where you 'probably' need paper qualifications. Good luck for the future Mark
  20. Seeing Deans thread I thought this offer of 6 months Love film for £9.99 may be of interest. http://www.moviestreamingsites.co.uk/2013/11/6-months-of-lovefilm-instant-for-9-99-from-amazon/ Mark.
  21. We have a TVONICS freeview recorder & it is ok. Ours is the '250' model & it is also 12v, ( uses a normal power adapter for mains ) ... I do think these models are 12v but worth checking. Worth getting the 5 year warranty for an extra £9.99. http://www.richersounds.com/search/tvonics-hv250M Nice small size as well. Mark
