  1. Ask Geoff at Methley oMandy next time youre round they will know
  2. Thats good news in these uncertain times
  3. Good luck Rick, its difficult to know others intentions in written communications. My propensity to see the humour in all things is what gives me my carefree disposition and evn now with what I have to look forward too in the future and whats gone on in recent years I still find fun in whatever I encounter. Carl is a very dry and intelectual wit and like me sees the lighter side of things, maybe he to has endured some dark days. i,m of the belief that if you are keen to meet someone without being overly keen then this will eminate from your very being and you wont have to present yourself to many people before you get a bite. Il,, sign off now and leave you to keep the thread alive Stuart hello Roxy if I wasnt still in love with my lovely wife after 35yrs and 31 of them married to her I,d chase you about a bit cos you sound like a fiesty bird, You seemed a tad stressed especially having a go at Carl, he is the forums knight in shining armour aftert all The forumneed sits characters so dont apologise for your quirks, we all go off on one now and again thats what families do!!!
  4. Aye its not a death sentence Micky and I,m still able to take the piss out of myself as well as anyone else who puts themselves up for it. I would hat eto think anyone on her eever takes me serilously, lifes too short. I hope DC gets a travelling companion but dont think advertising the way however each to their own and it wil increase the odds perhaps. Just to repeat I,m not so small a person as to think I cant have alaugh at my own expense and tend to put myself up for it to amuse others Stuart
  5. Roxy maybe DC is good with wood. I,m the best carpenter on the planet but wot with my newly diagnosed Parkinsons and my misplaced sense of humour and being on the other side of the world I cant be of any help. Carl is a woodsmen but you have burnt that bridge now Dc sounds like a good catch, go for it

  7. Yes David but what did he win? I,m sure many in the diplomatic core turn the other cheek. I,m sure the saying is "bigger fish to fry" I wouldnt loose any sleep in walking away in the knowledge that it was of no great consequence when the polar icecap is melting theres abig lump of rock out there in space with our name on it and kids all over the world are starving while i write this. this personal battle of wits everywhere you look is so depressing that one guy who may or maynot have been having a bad day is part of my percentage rule for life greenie for you oh noble one  Martin You are miles away as usual and I dont even kill wasps
  8. Eventually you will reflect on this and realise it was just down to lifes "percentage " rule. This Is best defined as Some things in life will have a predetermined outcome if pursued and no matter of positive input by oneseld will affect said outcome. The skill comes with experience and the ability to turn the other cheek for the sake of ones dignity and self respect Moving on and resisting debate would demonstrate recognition of this one of lifes golden rules
  9. Get thee behind me satan, Did you hear I missed a Sabb on my doorstep Doh!
  10. What fun saves me some legwork thanks Mike. That P4 is nice to look at but spent its former life at sea so internal corrosion may cancel out any expenditure on expensive whirly bits

  15. Hunters Beamish. Also and sperately my old mate is an agricultural engineer and has across reference for most things in his miriad of booklets. He does alot of work with small agricultural tractors and the like and they use Kabota mitsubishi and other engine types he is rarely if ever stuck with the most obscure of jobs
  16. Calm down dear! Now that we have all the facts we can proceed Have you left the plug on the boat Slapped wrists if you have Do you use the a68 to get to the boat? If so one of the most renowned diesel specialists isnt far off route
  17. Thenk the lord he may listen eventually!!!!!!!!!! even if he identifies "the usual" type fitted by research sods law says when he takes them out they will be different. If I want a match the first thing to do is slap it on a counter somewhere and take it from there. I regularly wonder why people on here bother trying to help as some people will do anything but take the easy route!!
  18. I have to agree with the possibility of less than satisfactory waterproofing in the long term. Truck sheets are obviously given the added protection of the much mentioned "dripsheet" as even the thickest workhardened canvas will only withstand showers. On reflection, Regentex type canvas while fulfilling an aesthetic ideal may well fall down in the ultimate waterresistance department as they are not best suited to constant 24/7 exposure which covering a hold will entail. Your choice of a pvc type cover in service will therefore provide a better product to live with, so well done with the research
  19. The definitive link, this is a modern canvas type cloth which is available in different weights and to which I am leant. When I asked for a supplier of traditional cloths earlier in my boat building thread, I was referred to a regentex supplier by an old hand. I quickly put two and two together and realised that it is a universally recognised product and is and was used in the haulage industry because of its resilience to wear and tear and its ability to hold a load securely. The addition of a "drip sheet" on top of canvas undersheets provides the very best in weather protection for any load in all weathers. Hope this helps http://www.jtinglis.com/regentex/regentex.html
  20. I,ll get some more info, we may be at odds!
  21. Whats the number on the glowplug itself ? Iknow it means removing it but it will be the short route in the long run, thats what I would do then at least you have something positive to work with Hunters at Beamish not a million miles from you will get a cross reference
