  5. Bit of advice genuineley given. Leave Cornwall alone this year its a bloomin nightmare. I know it well and have 2 kids who live there and its mayhem. Remember september is very busy as the kids are back at school so the sensible child free couples and older folk are about in abundance. Now if you want better beaches, much cheaper parking, better scenery and busy but not mobbed then go to west wales. Sat in my garden here today at 29 degrees not a cloud in the sky. Free parking in many places even lovely coastal areas and you can go out for a nice meal without resorting to remortgaging your house. I had a message from a friend last evening in Cornwalls Newquay and its horrible at present. Even the lesser known places that locals know are too busy. Its also a covid hot spot.

  13. This is true but it depends on how big the deposit was?? To cut and run and lose the deposit may well be less of a loss than the initial VAT and new boat loss on delivery.

  15. Completely agree. Covid is the gift that keeps on giving for many businesses. Very wise words. Also save a huge amount in instant depreciation and pain with snagging lists.

  18. So bloody true Ange. Far too many people spend their lives dreaming and letting finance take first place and being gonna dos when they retire and never get there. We had over 30 fantastic years which could never be replaced by simply staying put in a house all that time. Bloody Pikeys
  19. Thirty years plus living aboard I always managed to never own a bike they are quite simply the devils work. Wife had one chucked in a box that she used twice in about 3 years lol.
  20. We have very reluctantly sold our boat after umpteen years living aboard simply due to health reasons. We have downgraded to a very nice house not far from a fabulous coast so as we never wanted to be hobby boaters it had to go. Ive just been back tut canal though for a few days at a wedding and music bash which was nice and returned to the house an hour ago. If my kidneys were not cream crackered there is absolutely no way we would have ever moved back into a house, but hey ho there are some small plus points. ( scratches head )

    Taff

Now at your tender age thats obviously not because you may pop off before another dog does. Have you decided they are too tying or is there some other reason?
  22. Prior to the first bout of overheating had you topped the system up? I had a boat that was very tempremental and if the header tank was above a lowish level it would overheat and dump all the contents into the bilge. I had to fill to a precise level for it to behave.
  23. Very very true. I had two props from them on different boats and plenty of advice. The quality of the props for the additional price was a bargain.
