  2. A week taking your time?, Four days atmost. The problem with bridges are fisherman who seat there all day and day making a mess and yelling at any boat going by. Firesprite Middle Levels
  3. Brass Domes nicked from a narrowboat on end of garden mooring in March over the passed week. It seems that with the rising price of brass, Your domes are now a target for the 'light finger never do well'. A set of long term towpath moorings what a target!!. Firesprite Middle Levels

  6. I would have asked at the outset how often the billing was. Foxes bill every quarter. I installed a standard elec meter (£12 from QVS Direct) in to the shore supply cable on my own boat. If you want to control your use. Install a coin meter (About £30 upwards on Ebay), I have done this on a number of boats who's owners were on fixed incomes. They put in a few more coins when they have spare cash, building up credit and they know money is there for the bill. I do heat the water using elec, My bill is only £25 per quarter As for the bill, you have used the elec, So you will have to pay, Ask the owner if you can pay by installments. If it does go to bench, The marina owner will have to explain his haphazzed billing methods. Firesprite Middle Levels
  7. The large dent in my old boat would disagree on that, Go through a closed lock gate, cut a plastic boat in half and could kill someone. Firesprite Middle levels

  10. The same sort of damage done by most tea leafs. The costs add up In my case the front doors had to be replaced when he crowbar his way in (It was him, his dabs on everything). You can not get replacement doors quickly, my insurance claim came to over 1000 notes and this was ten years back. Why the doors? Portholes of course. Firesprite Middle levels

    WI-FI

We can agree to disagree on this subject. The fact that it is not been shouted from the rooftop does not mean it has not been broken. SIS are accessing encrypted WiFi networks every day. Firesprite Middle levels
  12. Define what you mean minimal damage. Repairs cost money. Firesprite Middle Levels
  13. Due to set off at the end of the week to Lower Heyford for the Summer. The question does arise where is that toerag 'Finch'. Last time I was on the Oxford. WI-FI

Brute force does take time. But did I say that brute was to be use. For a Encryption or code you use the data flow, the more data you have, the quickly the encryption is broken. This is one of the basic rules of code breaking. The code breaking software will seekout commonly used bits of code in each data block (the encryption) and before long you have the encryption code. As with locks you are buying time. The SIS do this all the time. The huns belived their code could not be broken. Many home networks are not even encrypted. The hacker just has to park out side your house and just access your network, computer, online accounts. I use two computers, one for online use and my main system which is not linked. Try for yourself and see how many unencrypted networks you can pickup. As for your computer, I boot from USB stick or floopy and my software just reads your encrypted password file without the need to start windows even windows 7, I can reset the passwords on each account or change them or just read them. One of my most common callouts is people locking them selfs out of their system. Firesprite Middle Levels

    WI-FI

Encryption can easly be broken (20 chars will last less than 5 mins, even a 256 char can be broken in 1/2 hour). Hence I still install cable networks. Any encryption or code can be broken, the only safe one is a one time code. Your own computer password, I can crack in under 30 seconds with my software. WI-FI

Would not trust Wi-fi to work more than 150 feet. We have Wi-Fi at Foxes, my boat is moored to far away. Futhermore Wi-fi networks can be hacked. Firesprite Middle Levels
  20. News Update Increase in the number of people working on the bridges this week, some even working today. The MLC Chief Engineer has been making daily checks on progress. Number of boats waiting to go through is increasing. The last bridge at West End may be open by the 15th March, if not a flight of pigs is warming up on the local airfield to fly in formation over March. Firesprite Middle Levels

  25. This is where I keep my inverter, loctated on the rear bulkhead of the cabin. It is a full height unit with the inverter located in the bottom half, below the AC panel. As I use a prosine inverter, It takes up no more room than a bookcase would. Kept at the right temp with ducted fans which kick in when required Firesprite Middle Levels
