  1. Yes definatly we do here lights all around the boat, looks brilliant.
  2. They were going to close down the South Oxford Canal in the 60's but for Jack Skinner Bringing a fully laden boat down with Barbara Castle on board for some of the journey to prove it was still navicable. Little did the powers to be at the time realise, was that Jack had arranged with the lock keepers (remember them) on route to send plenty of water down to keep the pounds full! Jack and Rose now both in their 80's, Jack nearly 90 both born on working boats, had to get rid of their little cruiser in the last year or so because BW had decided they could not have their free mooring any more, its so sad as every day Jack was out lifting the cover off the side of the boat to air it, now its gone he does not come out of the house at all.
  3. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is one of three mooring vacancies at this site. Please check the berth length and reference number if you tender. You can tender for different vacancies, but we will charge you 5% of your tendered amount for each succesful tender that you fail to complete (see Terms and Conditions for Tendering 2.14). This note was on a new tender near Lapworth the guide price is over £2200

  14. A few years ago my engine packed up winter time, my friend had to pole the boat 60ft over 25 miles to get it back to mooring! All I used for the winter months for power was 4 solar panels 2 of 70watt and 2 of 75watt never used the genny once and living on my boat I thought this was amazing seeing the shortness of the daylight from Christmas till around April, so its solar power for me every time

Went to NABO, AGM yesterday there was a guy doing a talk there called John Edmonds hes on the EA board and Chairman of IWAC goverment advisory body on waterways, anyway I understood that he was saying that no matter how much campaigning etc was done BW will not get another penny from DEFRA. Sue B was there maybe she could put me right on this if I got it wrong.
