  6. We were originally with BT then Talk Talk and are now with Sky. Our phone lines are already installed so it wasnt a problem doing the switching. Are the phone lines already in place at your moorings? if so they just need reconnecting which is an outrageous fee for whats involved. Just dont tell Sky that its a boat. Sky would also tell you they wont fit their Satelite system to boats, we didnt have that problem as I told them it was a mobile home (static caravan). Engineer came on the arranged date and never batted an eyelid. I just made sure access holes for the cables were already drilled.

  14. Fallen, no Jumped, yes. It was a very very hot summer and Id just filled the lock. While waiting for swmbo to catch up with the boat I couldnt resist the urge and plunged in. It was lovely. The only other time was when we came up to a queue at a lock and found they couldnt use it due to a paddle stuck open. Armed with a crowbar I swam into the lock and cleared the obstruction. Not quite as lovely as it was a cold day.

  19. Picked this up off facebook this evening found this on Iver Community Group: On Saturday at approx 6pm, on the homeward stretch of a bike ride with my 9 year old daughter - along the canal towpath from Cowley, I came across a middle aged couple, under one of the bridges. Having lead an extremely sheltered life, I have no idea what they were doing, although it appeared that the lady (in her early 50s, possibly of Filipino heritage), was enjoying herself immensely. With regards to her man friend (I didn't see his face, as he was kneeling down and his head was hidden in the lady's skirt) I'm not sure whether he was having fun or not, but if they were playing hide and seek, he is not very good at it. Does anyone know whether this is a regular spot for such activities?? Fortunately, my 9 year old daughter didn't seem to notice the friendly couple.

  23. Im also disapointed with our new Thetford Excellence. Never had any problems with our 465 but like you, ours also developed leakage over the top of the base unit. Ive solved it so far by regularly applying silicon spray to the slide and seal. The seal i found to be very stiff so a bit of a massage softend it up and now i get a reasonable seal between the two parts. Ill be searching ebay for an old style square shaped one soon.
